GravatarGoodnight, Doctor Stunned.

Gravatar"Permission to wobble lower lip, sir?"

GravatarBe right back..

GravatarShit, I was watching those clips from Black Adder 4 the other night. The best of the series, methinks.

GravatarYeah, Comment (0), right.

GravatarAre they white?

Gravatar::matthew, I answered you downstairs if you missed it.

GravatarMy internetting is so much nicer now that I block Flash shit. No more being forced to load YouTube content or annoying Flash advertising, all I see are empty rectangles. I see Flash if and when I want to, on my terms.

(If you're using Safari on the Mac it's SafariPlus I'm using. No fuss, no muss, no flash.)

I noticed my grass was browning a bit the last couple of days ... we've had severe watering restrictions around here.

Meanwhile, there's reportedly been one tornado tonight, down in rural Miami-Dade County. Nothin' but cows and gators out that far west (northwest of Homestead). Still, it's coming this way ... blecch.

GravatarThis was my third thradkill of the day.

I'm still annoyed by the extraneous apostrophe.
I need help.

Trade it with ya for the itty-bitty moth enamored of my computer screen that I can never catch.

You Radar-cupping Alda-lover!

Gravataranybody ever watch The Goodies?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The...ies_(TV_series)

GravatarThe new "Rogue Voice" for June is now online!
Good story about our local collegiate chickenhawks at the heavily Republican Cal Poly University:
http://theroguevoice.blogspot.co...ulture- war.html
The only college that Ronald Reagan enjoyed visiting when he was governor during the Vietnam years.

GravatarGoodies!

Goody-goody-yum-yum!

I loved the Goodies! What great memories. Never occurred to me to look for them on YouTube.

Graeme, Bill, and ... um ... uh oh ...

Anyway, they were great. Used to watch Monty Python and the Goodies back-to-back when I was in high school.

GravatarYou Radar-cupping Alda-lover!

Speaking of Tolstoy Freez...

Gravatar::matthew, I thought your link (just at a glance) was to YouTube, not Wiki. Hence my reference to YouTube.

I'm tired, I guess ...

GravatarOh wow, I've been a blackadder fan forever, and this is the first time I realized that's the same guy who played House.

GravatarSome band, some where, needs to name itself Extraneous Apostrophe.

GravatarThey got Scott Beach!

(He's the oddly overweight tie fighter pilot... a prominent Bay Area DJ at the time...)

Gravatar Samuel Alexander Garrison III, who defended President Richard Nixon in impeachment hearings in 1974 and later became a gay activist, has died. He was 65. Garrison died Sunday after a long battle with leukemia, said Mark Harris, his partner of 17 years.

Heh. I don't bear Mr. Garrison any ill wil. Our system is founded upon the idea that even the worst, dirtiest, most scumsucking criminal deserves a good lawyer to fight for him against the power of the government. Then, when we convict him, we hope that means that he was really guilty. I hope Bush and Cheney get good lawyers at the Hague, too.

Gravatarsinfonian, I wiki'd it because I thought it might need a frame of reference...I just flipped over to youtube and there is indeed much to see

GravatarSome band, some where, needs to name itself Extraneous Apostrophe.

Well, considering the rousing round of indifference my suggestion of "Simultaneous Come" received downstairs, I wouldn't hold my breath.

GravatarThey got Scott Beach!

GravatarJeez, what happened to the "You've already said that" thing???

Shouldn't that be "Extraneou's Apostrophe"?

Well, that takes care of wondering what I'll do on a rainy day tomorrow (when I'm not hanging out with Jr.) ...

GravatarI like the 2nd Blackadder the best, followed by the 4th.

Most people who watch House don't realise that Hugh Laurie is British.

GravatarDid Haloscam just hiccup?

GravatarWell, considering the rousing round of indifference my suggestion of "Simultaneous Come" received downstairs, I wouldn't hold my breath.

There's already a band called Mutual Orgasm, so it's kinda already been done.

Gravatar(He's the oddly overweight tie fighter pilot... a prominent Bay Area DJ at the time...) - dave™©

Did you ever see him when he was in the improv group, The Committee?

GravatarDid Haloscam just hiccup?

Threw up.

GravatarI love the 2nd series with the "Potato" episode.

GravatarUsed to watch Monty Python and the Goodies back-to-back when I was in high school.

I think the local PBS station did that, too... also ran "The Two Ronnies" for awhile.

Their greatest moment was when they started rerunning "The Prisoner" - this was around '76. They'd have a panel discussion after each episode.

The Prisoner was phenomenal. Truly thought provoking.

GravatarDid you ever see him when he was in the improv group, The Committee?

Oh, dear God, I wish!

Howard Hesseman was in that, too.

GravatarNever name your band what one of the band members' girlfriends thinks would be a great name for a band.

Here is one that almost happened:

A band named "Discrete"

Oh yeah, that will really bring them in ...

Gravatar"Remember - the Force will be with you - always!"

Thats where it went!

GravatarWell, thus ends the Orioles' 6-game winning streak. Damn.

GravatarI love the 2nd series with the "Potato" episode.

Remind now, is that what LAPD told Rodney King?

GravatarSpeaking of famous Bay Area types, I've mentioned this before, but in '75 or '76, the high school drama club saw an ACT production of "Taming of the Shrew"... the guy that played Petruchio's flunky was just fucking hilarious. Brought the house down, and got the biggest round of applause at the end.

Saw a video of it a few years later - that guy was Robin Williams.

GravatarMost people who watch House don't realise that Hugh Laurie is British.

That portrayal hits a little too close to home nowadays....

GravatarSaw a video of it a few years later - that guy was Robin Williams.
dave™©

Too cool.

I remember seeing the Second City group in Chicago about ten or so years ago ... included this guy named Colbert. (Also Amy Sedaris.)

GravatarFavorite goodies- they put short people in camps because apartheid was ended with a expatriation of others...

Nice to see it's the first mention in the wiki reference...

Goodieeeeeees
Goodie Goodie
Yum, yummmmmm

GravatarThe "Owls" we use around here come from one of their skits.

An agent thinks he's encountered his contact in a park and goes through a whole string of sign phrases. Among them, "When the owl screams, the hunter pisses on his foot."

GravatarOther Not-Great Names for Bands:

"The Look"

"Touch Me There"

"When You Want 2"

"I'm Packin'"

"Iowa Bound"

"Sponge Ready"

"Kielbasa @ Night"

GravatarAmusement park owls upstairs, folks.

GravatarMan! did you see that Embassy? Only cost us $592 million! OH GOD how I do hope all those PNAC neo-cons and their familys are comfortable living there!

GravatarNo, no, no....

Bean, an even younger House, and Hagrid

- NB

GravatarDon't forget Jeeves and Wooster:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=eZUAx...related& search=

Gravatar"George got the intelect of a boiled potatoe"

GravatarWuz gonna say, the Jeeves and Wooster series is right up there with Slackbladder. Though they did make an unforgiveable hash of the greatest Jeeves story of them all--and one of my favorite novels of all time--The Code of the Woosters. Completely screwed up the denouement, which is one of the best endings in literature, IMHO. I could forgive the other cuts, but not that--should have stuck with the short stories, which are more amenable to a one-hour TV show. Still, the series as a whole is superb.

GravatarIn the previous series, Blackadder the Third, Hugh Laurie (as the muddled Prince Regent) has a line to which absolutely no one else in the human race could do justice:

"Well, I may be as thick as a whale omelet, but..."

Gravatar"Prince George who is described in his party news-sheet as a great moral and spiritual leader of the nation, but is described by almost everyone else as a fat, flatulent git."

Best Blackadder line ever.

GravatarIf you haven't heard his song "Mystery" you haven't lived:

GravatarIf you want really really early Hugh Laurie, then try this:
