Sci-Fi Channel is running Nick Meyers "The Day After" right now.
My problems with that are a) it's the "truncated" two-hour version. It originally ran for three (IIRC) and was even more originally supposed to run for about five over two nights. When is that version ever going to come out?; and b) there's a scene near the end where the "president" comes on the radio and gives a little speech that says nothing. In the original broadcast, the voice of the "president" was an obvious imitation of Reagan - dottering, jovial old man without a clue. In all subsequent broadcasts (and video releases), that voice has been replaced by a strong generic "authority" type voice.
We share more than a birthday, old son. So far, Kucinich is the only one who has spoken directly, without hemming and hawing, on the issues.
Unfortunately, because of that, he's been cut out of the discourse by the media coverage, including the bbb.

Given all the tinkering Meyer was forced to do, the standard TV version is kind of incoherent.
And like I said, the version they show now is even shorter.
IIRC, the plan was for the first part (of about three hours) to end with the thermonuclear war, and the second part (two hours?) to be the aftermath.
When I was a wee Toonscribe, some of my favorite viewing was cheesy black-and-white giant creature movies on tv. Some of my faves were:
Reptilicus
Godzilla (original, not so much the sequels)
Them
The Giant Behemoth (can one have a "small" behemoth?)
The Black Scorpion
The Valley of Gwanji (sp?)(who doesn't like to see a t. rex lassooed from horseback)
and whatever the movie was that had the giant grasshoppers eating Chicago -- Peter Graves was the star.
FDR would probably be as marginalized as Kucinich is if he were running.

The conservatives' bullshit line about how higher taxes discourages productivity simply drives me insane. Whenever I hear anyone parrot it, I ask, "oh, so if you were offered a job at $1 million per year, knowing that your tax rate would be 50%, you'd turn it down to keep your $40K per year job so you'd only have to pay 30% in taxes? You'd pass up an extra $472,000 per year to get out of a higher tax rate? Then you're not just dumb, you're crazy."

Well, a couple of things:
1. If what is being talked about is official statements of endorsement, then you would be right: why should anyone listen to you, and besides, how would it matter. That happens pretty rarely anyway. But if you are talking about bloggers "sympathizing" with a particular candidate and sometimes painting other candidates in selectively bad light, I think that happens more frequently. "Endorsing" perhaps would be more honest, if silly and presumptuous.
2. One reason I think official and non-official blog endorsements are less prevalent this year is two-fold: (1) it's still early; (2) fear of blow-back of the kind that accrued to Dean when the MSM decided to use it against him, or to Clark (the Michael Moore syndrome). It's a finer line to walk this time, based on experience.
I might also add another lesson learned: extreme allegiance to one candidate in the primaries can lead to difficulties in transitioning to another candidate in the event your candidate 'loses.' I know that is keeping me more open this time around to (most) all the candidates, and less willing to commit exclusively.

"Most electable" = the highest polling negatives of anyone in the field.
He was the perfect patsy, someone to polarize many fence sitters.

They asked for funds more than they responded to any attacks.
Now Hillary is in the same role. She has some response to attacks, but if she rolls her eyes or wears a loud top with it,
weeeeeeere doooooomed!
I'll be glad to see the grown ups in charge again. That should be her campaign slogan. Clintons can run on their success, the GOP can run from it, like they did before.
