I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

GravatarWee.

GravatarSnow!

Gravatarjust great

GravatarAhhhh-CHu!!

GravatarChuck's a Superwanker.

GravatarWow. A cable news talking head is a tool? Pro-rightwing talking points masquerading as 'objective' discussion?

Whocoodanode?

GravatarChuck Todd, David Gregory, Norah O'Donelll, all examples of how the Broder-Russert disease has corrupted the next generation

"cable catnip"

Good Lord

GravatarI liked it yesterday when Lindsey Graham thought he was having a Perry Mason moment, but it's was more like an Oliver Hardy moment. I like it when the Fox guy introduced him as a [former] JAG Officer. I heard it as 'jack off'. After listening to Lindsey for a while, I figured out that i had heard it correctly the first time.

GravatarSen. Whitehouse, could you use your time to "reexamine" the witness after Coburn's "cross"? Maybe throw in several thinly-veiled insults toward Coburn and his moronic understanding of this.

Gravatarfrom the link:
UPDATE II: Todd just emailed me and agreed to do a podcast interview to discuss these matters. It's scheduled for later this afternoon and should be posted here shortly thereafter.

that will be interesting! Go, Glenn!!

GravatarIna!

GravatarWHO THE CHUCK IS TODD?

GravatarHaz CURLY!

Gravatarwe got the letter from these lawyers in the Bush Justice Department that said we can do this.

Honest to god: I keep hearing this repeated as conclusive: "The Bush justice department told the Bush CIA/pentagon this was legal...."

Can we sit them down for a weekend of Schoolhouse Rock seminars till they get this notion of checks and balances through their little marble noggins?

GravatarGood ol' Chuck. Remember he complained that recovery.gov wasn't populated on the day the site was announced?

GravatarTime to start calling the purveyors of cable catnip "nippers", and the spigot of faux news the 'catnipple'.

GravatarWell, answering Pat Buchanan in civil manner was his first mistake.

GravatarChuck Todd is the NBCs "Political Director" and Wanker-in-Chief.

GravatarChuck, looking like Murray from "Flight of the Conchords" will only get you so far in life.

GravatarHey Chuck, do us a favor. Just report the news and shut the fuck up. If I wanted your opinion, I'd unmute the sound.

GravatarAfter Schoolhouse Rock they can read some Nuremburg trial transcripts.

GravatarAm I making this up as a result of old-man memory syndrome, or is it true that Todd's father was a GOP big-wig at one time?

GravatarAnd one more thing ... and I'll stop ranting about Lindsey Graham. He kept railing about one sentence in one speech she made several years ago, and he couldn't even get it right. He kept saying 'wise LatinO', when the phrase in the speech was wise Latina. Clearly, he is an ignorant fuck.

GravatarToad is a smarmy brainless idiot.

He's a bigger idiot than Joe S., Mika, Willie, Barnicle, Buchanon, or any of the rest of the dumbasses that are on that show.

GravatarWorse beard - Todd or Pantload?

GravatarI hope that Glennzilla, figuratively speaking, hands Todd what's left of his ass, fricasseed.

'Mout.

GravatarChuck is just a placeholder, NBC is merely waiting until Luke is deemed ready

GravatarHas Todd ever held a job as a journalist before this?

GravatarToad's: very asymmetrical, side-to-side.

GravatarHas Todd ever held a job as a journalist before this?
Gummo

Yes. It was his job to clean Timmeh's whiteboard

GravatarChuck Todd is not qualified to sell street meat in front of the Smithsonian.

GravatarDavid: 'Comin' Back To Me' is a really pretty song, and ridiculously easy to pick; everyone on my dorm floor with a guitar passed it around.

Not much left to Grace Slick after a short time, but Jorma's kept right on...

Gravatarit was his job to clean Timmeh's whiteboard,

ewwwwwwwwww

GravatarBut, but; Grace had "We Milked This Kitty!"

GravatarPossibly the only thing Chuck is missing? A bowtie.

GravatarHas Todd ever held a job as a journalist before this?

Yes. Todd has always been a journalist.

In between gigs as a Republican campaign worker.

GravatarOh no. There goes Toddio
Go go Glennzilla

GravatarNot much left to Grace Slick after a short time, but Jorma's kept right on...

I never really started listening to the Airplane until around the time of "Long John Silver" when Kaukonen and Cassidy started rocking, along with Papa John.

GravatarI suspect a Type 1 of Sotomayor's means may well have continuous blood-glucose monitoring and an insulin pump -- wonderful advances for Type 1's.

GravatarOff topic, but Cavendish is amazing. Nobody can beat him in a sprint.

GravatarI think a Glenn Greenwald podcast would fill up my iPod...

GravatarSpeaking of The Villagers, did anyone hear Dana Milbank's rally bad attempt at jocularity on NPR this AM?

See, he's a JOURNALIST OF THE VILLAGE, so he can ALSO be a (bad) comedian!

But...bring a jocular outsider to DC, and HE BRINGS THE SENATE TO A NEW LOW.

***fuming***

Gravataris Moon around?

GravatarOh good grief, Whitehouse! Shut the fuck up.

GravatarTweety is getting into the freakazoid zone.

"She's too controlled ... not being forthcoming about who she is."

I thought your gooper talking point was that she was raving and needed to control her temperament.

GravatarQuestion for Chuck:

Is there anything at all, anything, that should be checked and balanced?

GravatarIs there anything at all, anything, that should be checked and balanced?

Checked? Yes, the Democratic Party.
Balanced? No. Nothing.

GravatarMoon's on holiday in Cairo, I believe; and hasn't checked in in several days.

GravatarWhatever they are paying Chuck Todd it's too much.

Gravatar"She's too controlled ... not being forthcoming about who she is."

Hmmmm.... not forty-eight hours ago she was giving him teh thigh quivers

Gravatardurn. thanks, plants. that'll teach me to toss CD covers before writing down somewhere. i just discovered this song and have no way of getting the name of it.

GravatarHere's Moon's blog:

Gravataryes the moon is round.

GravatarWhen did Chuck Todd morph into Cokie Roberts?
Spooky schitt...

GravatarTweety is nuts.

Gravatarmestizo, are you punking me, mang? seriously, you have no idea how crabby it makes me to not know a song name when i want to.

GravatarHmmmm.... not forty-eight hours ago she was giving him teh thigh quivers

Tweety had cocktail weenies with his wingnut friends last night.

GravatarMoon's gmail addy is on her blog page, shoot her a query.

I mostly agree, but the time he told Joe Scarborough that the supposedly conservative Supremes were in fact legislating from the bench in the Ricci case was a thing of beauty. Totally shocked the Intern Killer into silence for a change...

GravatarProfWombat,
thanks for the answer on the last thread. I am very interested in the interactions between patient and physician.
obviously, it is very tricky for patient to know what to do, let alone have input, in such a situation.
add to that, the question of science versus wise judgment and we are off to the races.

GravatarMy good buddy, the old fat ass billy b is on fire today! He is showing the debating skills that made him King of the Sand Box. go billy.

Gravataryou have no idea how crabby it makes me to not know a song name when i want to.

does your player have a read out as it plays. i guess not or you not be asking. humm a few bars. maybe someone will recognize it.

Gravatar"She's too controlled ... not being forthcoming about who she is."

Shorter Tweety: Frigid bitch.

You know, either she's too emotional (woman, Latina) or too controlled (bitch). It's the same old Catch 22 Game the partriarchy's been playing with women for centuries.

Gravatarfuck off, jack

GravatarChuck Todd is, per Wiki, both a college drop out and an adjunct prof at Johns Hopkins. His wife is a Dem op (so he's gotta compensate on the air, no doubt). Nothing there about his parents' jobs.

GravatarShe's very warm and pleasant to people who aren't assholes.

Talking about mimi again plantsman?

Gravatar"She's too controlled ... not being forthcoming about who she is."

She's a thoughtful person who thinks before she speaks. I'd like to see her bitch-slap her questioners when they ask a stupid question, but that's not going to happen. She IS being who she is.

GravatarTweety: I know that Justice Breyer has looked at foreign law ...

Tweets, you are such a fucktard.

Gravatarpeterboy: one oft is forced to act on the basis of inadequate information, giving the best shot without even the possibility of being sure you're doing the right thing. In which case, do you tell someone who's depending on you for her very life all about it?

I found, in the vast majority of cases, that, even though it took a wicked long time to talk to 'em sometimes, they were usually just fine with that approach. Not always. Some just wanted to be in my hands, hear nothing, not participate in the decision at all other than to trust me. No one answer for everyone...

Hecate,

agreed, Hecate.
this explains fully why I have the sound off when the heads come out.

everyone has an opinion and tweety and his crew, the other stations ditto and squared, are pretty much bloviating from their own, narrow, perspectives.
she is doing well and she is fine.

it is purposefully bland and tempered. they are vetting the nomination of a justice, not a game show host.

GravatarThat's how you earn the big bucks - say go ahead and do this illegal thing, and when you get caught, you're on you're own.

What an awesome lawyer that is.

GravatarWhitehouse showed what he was when he left that hearing early, had important things to do, places to go to, and left the repub to attack. Yeah, Whitehouse is on our side? Get a clue.

GravatarYou are right about Dana Milbank on NPR today. I had to listen to that mess of an interview twice today. That was just embarrassing.

GravatarVideo- Sen. Coburn Tells Judge Sotomayor She Has "Lots of Splainin' To Do"

GravatarTwo factors made Souter a liberal. First, the extreme conservatism of the Five of Nine, in reference to which he (and Stevens, a Republican Ford appointee) appeared farther to the left than they are. Second, his respect for stare decisis. He was unwilling, absent compelling reason, to vote against precedent. And Rehnquist and Roberts frankly invited opportunities to overturn prior decisions with whch they disagreed.

GravatarHere's a fun article on Nazi^h^h^h^h Israeli tactics in Gaza:

''' JERUSALEM -- Israeli combat soldiers have acknowledged that they forced Palestinian civilians to serve as human shields, needlessly killed unarmed Gazans and improperly used white phosphorus shells to burn down buildings as part of Israel's three-week military offensive in the Gaza Strip last winter.

In filmed testimony and written statements released Wednesday, more than two dozen soldiers told an Israeli army veterans group that military commanders led the fighters into what one described as a "moral Twilight Zone" where almost every Palestinian was seen as a threat. '''

But because these revelations continue, Obama must at least make it look as if he's going to do something about them. We'll see what actually gets done. Not much, I'll wager.

Let's tell it like it is. The Democrats are protecting Bush and his band of criminals and thus protecting their beloved two-party system.

"Miller claimed that “liberals are trying to co-opt” the term, but they haven’t “completely commandeered it” yet, so conservatives should “start claiming progressivism on the right too.” Kristol agreed, citing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s frequent use of the phrase, “progressing Alaska forward”:

KRISTOL: And I agree with you. What’s progressive about heaping tax burdens and energy costs burdens on working class and middle class people in a tough economic time? I mean, who’s really for progress? People make fun of Sarah Palin, her grammar’s not so good some times and she’s always talking about “progressing Alaska forward.” It’s not a verb I usually use, but maybe she’s on to something in the notion that conservatives should not give up the notion that they’re the progressive force now in American politics."

GravatarAnd plants, I bookmarked it, and I meant to thank you.

I'm a bit of an airhead right now. Tired and worried are no ways to go through life, son.

GravatarLegacy is not linked to a religious organization, as Providence Health/ Regence is here, as far as I know.

How many delusions are conservatives supposed to maintain? It's just not fair to the poor babes...

GravatarPaying for Health Care by Destroying the Economy [Veronique de Rugy]

That' pretty much the plan laid out by House Democratic leaders. In order to pay for the $1 trillion health-care plan, they won't be cutting spending (it's probably too 1990s for today's lawmakers) but they will be imposing new taxes — surtaxes in fact — and fees and penalties. Finally, America will become like its European counterparts, a place where it's painful to work hard and be rewarded for it.

Your hoity-toity name tells me that you've never done a day's work in your life. I hope they strip you of all your ill-gotten gains and force you to beg on the streets.

GravatarWhere's Amy's glasses?

GravatarBut, you object to time off? When you could garden and see the Pac NW?

Oh, not at all, except I need benefits.

GravatarIt's gonna be 90s here, which I could skip.

You folks in the river valley always seem to be either 10 degrees hotter or colder than us. Thank goodness for marine air.

GravatarI could use about $3.50

GravatarHousekeeping note, for those of you just starting out - buy Revereware pots and pans.  When you forget they're on the stove, on high, and all the water boils out and the hardboiled eggs explode and the pan is all burned?  They don't shatter, they don't ignite and the burn marks can be scoured out.

Definitely NSFW.

GravatarMADRID – A Spanish woman who deceived a U.S. fertility clinic about her age and become the oldest woman to give birth has died at 69, leaving behind 2-year-old twins, newspapers reported Wednesday.

Maria del Carmen Bousada gave birth in December 2006 after telling a clinic in Los Angeles that she was 55, the facility's maximum age for single women receiving in-vitro fertilization. Guinness World Records said the 66-year-old was the oldest on record to give birth and the case ignited fierce debate over how much responsibility fertility clinics have over their patients.

I have a big heavy pot I got from my mom. I love it, use it when I make oxtail stew. When she goes, I know my sister and I are going to fight over the fryer.

GravatarGLENN BECK WORKS DOUBLESPEAK, ALSO

"BECK: We’ll come back with Jonah Goldberg. I want to make something real clear, though. It wasn’t just — don’t think that this is a Barack Obama or a Democrat-bashing thing. Because it’s not. Compassionate conservativism is the same thing. Progressivism is in both parties, and that is the cancer that you need to educate yourself on and know what it is so you can fight it and irradiate it. It is — and you can find the beginnings of it. A great place to start is a book, it’s just come out in paperback I think tomorrow, or maybe it was out last week. Jonah Goldberg’s book, Liberal Fascism."

GravatarUh, apologies for the repeat blogwhore but I love this one...

Brooklyn Girl, shady dame | Homepage | 07.15.09 - 12:15 pm | #

Yeah, this is why I think the narrative around 9/11 is so mistaken. It's not about protecting US, it's about protecting THEM. Hence nobody among the power brokers gives a shit about war crimes or torturing people to death.

If we protested like they're doing in Iran, we'd be machine-gunned in the streets by the thousands and the press would dutifully report how the alert gov saved us from a terrorist mob.

Prior to Bush II, I cut Ford slack for pardoning Nixon. I bought into the B.S. that it was the right thing to do to heal the country.

Watching the Bush nightmare explode, I've changed my mind.

Nixon should have gone to prison for about 10 years.

Comparatively, Bush and Cheney should be executed for treason and war crimes. And I firmly believe that. Make a forceful statement about how this bullshit will NOT be tolerated.

GravatarIf I won the lotto, I would

Just saying...

GravatarAnon.
Well, the begging bowl is still out, NTodd dropped a buffalo nickle in it, but then there was the Pregnancy Crisis and he and Erika needed it more than I, so I refunded it.

The PayPal thing is easy. Go to PayPal and "send money" to cht@gis.net.

I need to replace the power supply on my old Dual Processor G4 Mac.

Donations greatfully accepted. Any surplus funds will be either refunded or donated to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, depending upon the wishes of the contributor.

Sincere Thanks in advance!

MSNBC's Olbermann Twice Gets Free Republic Founder's Name Wrong By Matthew Balan Created 2009-07-15 12:11 Keith Olbermann, one of MSNBC’s resident leftists posing as anchors, named Jim Robinson, the founder of FreeRepublic.com, as his runner-up on his “Worst Person in the World” feature on his Countdown program on Monday evening but twice called him “Jim Thompson.”

Who gives a shit? A fucking worm by any other name is still a worm.

GravatarOMIGOD! Olberman is soooo busted11111!

GravatarChuck Todd's analysis is not that off the mark, actually. And, it doesn't surprise me that a libertqarian like Glenn Greenwald wants so badly for Barack Obama to go after Bush and Cheney on torture, congresisonal disclosure, etc.

It's a twofer for him.

Not only are the civil liberties wrongdoes of the last adminstration investoigated -- Barack Obama's domestic agenda on the economy and health care reform gets destroyed in the bargain because you now have a massive media distraction that takes away from those two major issues.

You think Greenwald is going to fight for the public option? Hell know. He probably regards it about as favorably as a health insurance company executive.

There is plenty of time to go after Bush and Cheney AFTER health care reform is passed.

GravatarChris, I don't think I can spare any dough at the moment, but I have a couple of suggestions.

Both Small Dog Electronics in Vermont and Shreve Systems in Shreveport, LA sell, I believe, parts for Mac computers (definitely Shreve does.) I've repaired my old machines with bits from these guys. If you can do the labor (and putting in a new power supply is easy, I bet you've done it more than once) you can save some money. But you're probably planning to go this way already.

If my finances improve in the next week or two, you'll be hearing from me.

Gravatar"Lottery: Tax On People Who Are Bad At Math."

Not wholly true.

GravatarJeremy Scahill has it right:
http://rebelreports.com/post/141...y- assassination
Congress is outraged that Cheney concealed a CIA program to assassinate al Qaeda leaders, but they should also be investigating why Obama is continuing—and expanding—U.S. assassinations.

The Obama administration has not only continued the Bush policy of using drones to carry out targeted assassinations, but has also continued the use of prisons where people are held indefinitely without charge or access to the International Committee of the Red Cross. Under Obama, Bagram air base in Afghanistan is expanding and, at present, hundreds of prisoners are held there without charges. In essence, the Obama administration is doing exactly what this secret CIA program sought to do, albeit out in the open.

It is long past due that the Congress investigate this U.S. government assassination program. The politically inconvenient truth, however, is this: An actual investigation would require the Democrats pounding Cheney over his concealment of an assassination program (that allegedly was not implemented) to focus their investigation on how President Obama actually implemented and expanded that very program.

Liz Cheney is No Innocent Bystander. She Was Dick's Mole in the State Department on the Middle East

"Indeed, Liz Cheney served two stints in the State Department while Dick was up to his illegal and largely still unknown secretive actions. And she wasn't stationed at the Iceland desk. She had responsibilities directly related to "diplomacy" in the Middle East.

In 2002, Liz was appointed to the "vacant" position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern [Middle-Eastern] Affairs. In 2005, after taking time off from the State Department to work on her father's re-election, she was named Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State For Near Eastern Affairs. In 2006, Liz became the head of the State Department Iran Syria Policy and Operations Group"
