GravatarYou don't really think you'll get a home run, do ya?

GravatarAnd yes I called owls.

GravatarNo, Moe, I didn't really slide for home. pffft. but glad you have strawberries!

GravatarBlood and souls for ExxonMobil!

GravatarThey're still green. Another week or so.

GravatarAnother week? Maybe you can put them in a brown paper bag, like tomatoes?

GravatarMcCain broke the finance laws in a Mavericky way. It is totally different.

GravatarThe tomatoes on my plants are green yet, but will be ripe the day after I fly to the States.

GravatarHit 'n run: The SwiftBoater Floyd Brown doesn't have a lot of money this time, boo effin' hoo.

GravatarFunny thing is the blue jays like them exactly ripe, too. So, I try to beat them to the berries, every morning. The jays leave the berries alone when they're not ripe.

GravatarIt's gonna be a lonnnnnnnnnnng summer.

GravatarI don't even have flowers on my tomatoes yet, much less fruit.

GravatarThat McCain violated his own ethics regs got passing mention last night, I think on Newshour. But Obama generally called cynical at best, and TPM gotz it.

GravatarSo is Nancy Pelosi in any danger at all of losing the election this fall?

I wish she were, but I doubt it. I wish all these republican/democrats would lose their seats.

GravatarGee credibility suffers from blatant bias? who knew. good article, ___league

GravatarThat link goes to a well-written piece, one of the better Media Matters pieces IMO.

Damn shame we don't have a decent press.

GravatarWillendorf Venus -- yep. I'll have tomatoes in September, just before the first frost.

GravatarI had these tomato plants on the windowsill during the early spring, so they were already flowering when I put them out. One even had small fruit on it.

GravatarDouble digit lead for Obama on NBC news right now.

Gravatar"Knowingly violating the spending limit is a criminal offense that could put McCain at risk of stiff fines and up to five years in prison."

I won't hold my breath on that one.

Gravataryep. I'll have tomatoes in September, just before the first frost.

They will be just as tasty.

GravatarObama: Repugs will try to paint me as scary

Gravatarmore Steve King memorabilia;

gak; ' Who can forget Rep Steve King’s horrible words about Obama back in Iowa?

King: “And I will tell you that, if he is elected president, then the, the radical Islamists, the, the al-Qaida, and the radical Islamists and their supporters, will be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on September 11….

Well, he’s baaaack. In one of the most reprehensible lines of questioning today - and Lord knows there were many as Republicans desperately try to outdo each other on who can cover Bush’s ass best - GOP stooge Steve King takes the cake with this gem:

“Couldn’t you have taken this to the grave with you and done this country a favor?”'

"King: “And I will tell you that, if he is elected president, then the, the radical Islamists, the, the al-Qaida, and the radical Islamists and their supporters, will be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on September 11…."

What's wrong with dancing in the streets? A lot of white Christian moderate Americans will be dancing in the streets if Obama gets elected.

Getting the Islamofascists to boogaloo could be the first step toward a brave new world where EVERYONE boogaloos!

Or not.
.

GravatarWhy, sometimes, the Daily Kos is really, really silly. Still, as disappointed as I am about what passed the House, I suppose it's good to focus on Obama's intent to run as a candidate from the center. Too many people have too many unwarranted expectations about what Obama would do as President. At the same time, Obama is sending a clear message that he intends to run pragmatically, and has the toughness to do so. Whether it's FISA or campaign finance, that means making some people unhappy.

Ummm, DemFromCT, it does not take toughness to ignore a few Americans on the web who understand the issues and want their politicians to be responsive to the law in favor of going along with the majority who simply do not bother to try to understand things because, "It's complicated."

Sheesh. (Not even done with the first cup and I am pissed already)

GravatarRuth: King, of course, is only voicing what a lot of people have the cunning not to say out loud.

GravatarOff to the farmers market. Later, all.

GravatarI think pretty much the whole world will be — mentally, at least — dancing in the streets if Obama wins.

Gravatar.
Mentally doesn't count: BLOCK PARTY!!!
.

Gravatar'Dancin' in the Streets' came out while urban riots were a commonplace.

There were a lot of hope and dreams back then, sometimes deliberately positioned against the appalling realities of racism, assassinations, Vietnam and all of it.

Yes, but there was DANCIN'!!!

My wife as talked to a few of her friends back in Indonesia, and the feeling is they can't wait for Obama to be elected and see if the US will become a better place for everyone.

I do know this: they would not have made this "compromise" and then brought this to the floor without his ok, and probably without his direction. He is the leader of the Democratic Party now, in the middle of a hotly contested presidential campaign. If he didn't come to them and say to get this thing done before the fall, then they came to him and asked his permission. That's just a fact. They aren't going to do anything he doesn't want them to do.

So, it's not really a capitulation. It's a strategy.

GravatarSo what?

So let's dance.

Good morning.

GravatarSo, it's not really a capitulation. It's a strategy.
