GravatarGore: Mountain-top mining is terrible i learned all about it from the movie with heath ledger

[hosts whispers to him]

Gore: oh coal mining

Gravatarpeeps.

Why does Maliki hate America? I mean Iraq.

GravatarWell, time for me to head to Sharjah.

I'll check back in about 8 or 9 hours and see if you guys are still in afterglow.

GravatarGore: liquid coal is insane its like making Crazy Eddie Sec. of the Interior

[yay!!]

Gore: we've got to walk and chew gum at teh same time

Q: well look at who is President

Gore: there's your problem

GravatarPelosi: when we last met i was your student but now AM THE Speaker

Gore: only a Speaker of Evil, Nancy

Pelosi: your powers are weak, old man

Gore: Bush struck me down and I only became more powerful than he could imagine

.

GravatarGood lord, how can I tell who I wanna beer with if Ma Media doesn't tell me? Hush.

GravatarNeed to call sheets/ yes.

GravatarGore: you should not have come to NetRoots

Pelosi: Bill Clinton taught you well

Gore: you endorsed Hillary, didn't you

Pelosi: that's not true, that's impossible

Gore: I AM Barack Obama's father

Pelosi: Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Gore: Search your feelings Nancy, you KNOW it to be true

GravatarGore: only a Speaker of Evil, Nancy

Gravatar"Now.....if I just might want to get to the point."

GravatarThe number one problem with voting for politicians and calling that democracy is that the elections really are little more than celebrity popularity contests. Journalists write about politicians' personalities because that is what's important in our system. If we were voting for policies, journalists would write about policies.

GravatarReporting to the judiciary committee. Scaaaaaarrry.

GravatarIt's infuriating to me that we have criminals in the White House and absolute wimps in congress and all we really have to look forward to is more of the same in November. And here we are, still stuck in the dark ages. The producers will get away with it because it's just a symptom of a larger illness which is complacency among voters and a "protect our jobs at all costs" mentality in DC. I used to think that maybe Obama truly is the agent of change, despite the fact that he is every bit as DLC as Clinton but now I no longer believe it. Don't get me wrong, he is still by far the best choice that we have. Still, I'm tired of our issues being vilified by the right and ignored, (except for the occasional [and non-inclusive] bone thrown our way), by the left. Yet here we are....we "can't" hold hearings on or do anything about the Bushies breaking domestic, international and war crimes laws because around a third of the population "doesn't have the stomach" for it and we can't extend all human and social rights to the LGBT community because about a third of the population would be outraged by it. These are largely the same people and unfortunately, they are also largely our "leadership". Why are we bending over backwards, hiding in the closet and ceding our world reputation to protect a bunch of inbred, mouth breathing bigots? I'm not one of those people who wants to bail out and move to Europe, (though I admit that's an attractive idea), I'd rather stay here and change things. Whether Obama is truly the agent of change that most of us at one time hoped that he would be or not, the next step is obvious: Our goal must be to have a viable progressive party challenge the DC establishment by the time of the 2012 elections. There are several honest progressives in the House and the Senate who call themselves Democrats now for lack of an alternative. Enough to make it viable? I don't know but I am getting old enough now and seen the same thing from DC for so long that it's very discouraging. For all of our technical progress, our social progress is sadly lagging far behind. That's the problem with the Middle East: They have been able to parlay their natural resources into becoming world power brokers but lack the social maturity to be able to properly deal with such responsibility. They have the power of an adult in his/her prime but are still social toddlers. We are on the same path and that path always leads to destruction. The innocent and powerless always suffer in such a scenario, while the people responsible for that state of things become ever more tyranical to hold onto their power. So, in my opinion, this is it. We are down to our last chance to save this experiment in democracy. Vote your conscience in November but keep in mind that election is just the beginning and keep in mind that Democrats are just the other side of the Republican coin and the party won't change while people are sending 52 million dollars to a man that just sold a good portio

GravatarI see someone woke up from the Texas booze and hooker orgy

GravatarDude, we don't have time to read Media Matters! We're watching ALLLLLLLLLLL!

So, was that an answer the Speaker gave?

2 - there's no science instruction at all - this is killing us!  Fix it!  End the NCLB crap!

3 -  Pelosi - Gore issued a challenge - will you accept it?

4 -  Computers/TVs are toxic - dumping them on underdeveloped countries?  Stop it!

GravatarNancy get squirmy when the dirty fucking hippies get rowdy.

GravatarQ: end the war!

Host: ok let's move

Q: my television is dumping toxins on federal prisons!!

Gore: lets take the Bucky question frist

OK. I want someone in the MSM to try and convince me that J. Sidney McCain is likeable.

Previously, the law said they couldn't do it at all.

They ignored the law.

Gore: i'm overwhelmed by your ability to successfully crash and burn

Gravatar"More and Better Democrats, please." N. Pelosi

GravatarWTF? Does she think she is the principle?

GravatarWhy is nobody shouting obscenities at nancy?

GravatarI think the reason our resident keeps pushing the switchgrass is because it's the only thing that grows on his "ranch".

GravatarQ: Al Gore what batteries do you use to keep running

Gore: i operate on NiCad batteries

Q: will you ever bother to support the fucking Iraqi President for crying out loud

GravatarIt seems Al wants more questions and Nancy doesn't, am I wrong?

GravatarSnow,

That's what I understood from the comment.

GravatarThe Sunni bloc has rejoined Maliki's government. It seems to me that their demand that Maliki do something about getting the US troops out really was the sticking point.

Gravatarwell, so much for getting anything done this morning.

GravatarAlright, I'm done talking on the phone for the day.

I presume that everyone's fainting couches are in place for what's been said/may be said for this lil' Kos-athon?

Let's all take it as gospel.

GravatarBy-the-bye - you all do realise that something like 75% of all the land in AZ & NM is federally owned?  A fraction of that belongs to the indigenes, but a national energy policy could actually be executed without additional infrastructure requirements....

GravatarAlmost hot enough to mow the yard.

GravatarThe CODEL That Changed The World [Byron York]

Obama and his congressional delegation are now in Afghanistan. From John McCain's radio address this morning:

My opponent, Senator Obama, announced his strategy for Afghanistan and Iraq before departing on a fact-finding mission that will include visits to both those countries. Apparently, he's confident enough that he won't find any facts that might change his opinion or alter his strategy. Remarkable.

According to the Constitution, McStain, the president tells the military what to do, not vice versa.

If Jefferson had followed Gen. Benedict Arnold's advice, we'd have maple leafs all over our flag.

GravatarYes, I recall that. I'm up for it!

Much more interesting than geodesic spheres.

GravatarMy opponent, Senator Obama, announced his strategy for Afghanistan and Iraq before departing on a fact-finding mission that will include visits to both those countries. Apparently, he's confident enough that he won't find any facts that might change his opinion or alter his strategy. Remarkable.

John, you are an idiot.

And that's not remarkable.

GravatarNancy does not realize the impact of what Maliki said.

GravatarIt's also worth noting that, unlike other states, both NM & AZ have effectively statewide power companies - Arizona Public Service and Public Service Company of New Mexico.

Both entities are tentatively beginning solar power development.  Wouldn't it be nice to involve them?

GravatarMeh...not much shock there.
Zap Rowsdower + 1 |

Oh, and I forgot, we watched (and heard) Nancy have multiple orgasms when Al walked out. Long sustaining.

Gravatar"...respsectful of the American people, and the Iraqi people..."

[Correction for Speaker Pelosi]

GravatarMy opponent, Senator Obama, announced his strategy for Afghanistan and Iraq before departing on a fact-finding mission that will include visits to both those countries. Apparently, he's confident enough that he won't find any facts that might change his opinion or alter his strategy. Remarkable.

Remarkably, so did you, Senator McCain. In 2001 for Afghanistan and in 2002 for Iraq.

According to the Constitution, McStain, the Congress tells the president what to do, not vice versa.

I have fried you tamales. Order up.

GravatarNancy Pelosi has taken what is probably the most important political position ever given in this country to a female and made herself into Tip O'Neill in a pants suit.

GravatarAPS. Whatever happened to the SRP?

GravatarPelosi's a shitty blogwhorer.

Gravatarkeep your hands off the Speaker, Gina.

GravatarAfternoon, all.

Is everybody here as stoked as me that President Obama is going to be Clinton II, and I don't mean Hillary?

Really, that's just what I've been hoping for these last eight years...

GravatarRemarkably, so did you, Senator McCain. In 2001 for Afghanistan and in 2002 for Iraq.

John and his buddy Petzhold have a problem with the facts.

GravatarSRP is very much still here - but is not particularly active, I don't believe.  Their juice is coming from water I believe.

GravatarThe REC companies in the SW also are interested in alternative energy sources. Even though what they are doing are just baby steps they are aware of the problems with coal burning, and the challenges of doing something different.

I think funding is their biggest problem, not the willingness to do something.

There are no shortages of scientists, engineers and technologists willing to do the work, not managers in electric companies willing to manage the process.

GravatarNancy does not realize the impact of what Maliki said.

To the contrary. She's one of the Serious People. The Serious People want teh permanent occupation.

GravatarThat would make sense; the Salt River Canyon (all those switchbacks!) had to be good for something.

GravatarOkay...who wants to give me free stuff???

I have lots of things, but nothing that will sustain the next 18 years, or so.

Gravatarwell that was real.

And no, Doug, I never learned about tensegrity.

Gravatartwo things

1. nancy is covering her own behind because she was informed of the methods being used to gather info and interrogate prisoners and she did nothing. Nor did Jay Rockefeller, though he did write a secret letter to Dick. So them caving should not be any surprise at all.

2. Uncle Smokes is a scrabble ringer. Careful folks.

GravatarOops:

With six weeks to go before the Republican National Convention, St. Paul police still are building the security force for the four-day event -- one that officials are hoping will total at least 3,000 officers, a spokesman said this week.

As of Friday afternoon, agreements were in place for 1,809 officers, including 500 from St. Paul, according to a list provided by spokesman Tom Walsh. But he said other commitments now being finalized would put the number of officers being banked on thus far at 2,927.
