These motherfuckers actually do have a long term plan:
To turn the United States into a third world country.
Where they can rule as feudal lords.
That's what it is all about.
I always thought their plan was to bankrupt Social Security, or at least the paid in advance part. Saint Ronnie after all was the "paygo" guy.
By getting America into so much national debt, then reorganizing that debt by writing of the four trillion or so owed to intragovernmental debt.
Voila! Everything is now paygo.

Huckabee Wanted to Isolate AIDS Patients
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Mike Huckabee once advocated isolating AIDS patients from the general public, opposed increased federal funding in the search for a cure and said homosexuality could "pose a dangerous public health risk."
As a candidate for a U.S. Senate seat in 1992, Huckabee answered 229 questions submitted to him by The Associated Press. Besides a quarantine, Huckabee suggested that Hollywood celebrities fund AIDS research from their own pockets, rather than federal health agencies.
"If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague," Huckabee wrote.
"It is difficult to understand the public policy towards AIDS. It is the first time in the history of civilization in which the carriers of a genuine plague have not been isolated from the general population, and in which this deadly disease for which there is no cure is being treated as a civil rights issue instead of the true health crisis it represents."

The AP submitted the questionnaire to both candidates; only Huckabee responded. Incumbent Sen. Dale Bumpers won his fourth term; Huckabee was elected lieutenant governor the next year and became governor in 1996.
When asked about AIDS research in 1992, Huckabee complained that AIDS research received an unfair share of federal dollars when compared to cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
"In light of the extraordinary funds already being given for AIDS research, it does not seem that additional federal spending can be justified," Huckabee wrote. "An alternative would be to request that multimillionaire celebrities, such as Elizabeth Taylor (,) Madonna and others who are pushing for more AIDS funding be encouraged to give out of their own personal treasuries increased amounts for AIDS research."
Huckabee did not return messages left with his campaign.
When Huckabee wrote his answers in 1992, it was common knowledge that AIDS could not be spread by casual contact. In late 1991, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said there were 195,718 AIDS patients in the country and that 126,159 people had died from the syndrome.

Major crude producer Iran has completely stopped carrying out its oil transactions in dollars, Oil Minister Gholam Hossein Nozari said on Saturday, labelling the greenback an "unreliable" currency.
"At the moment selling oil in dollars has been completely halted, in line with the policy of selling crude in non-dollar currencies," Nozari was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.
"The dollar is an unreliable currency, considering its devaluation and the oil exporters' losses," he added.
The world's fourth largest oil exporter, Iran has massively reduced its dependence on the dollar over the past year in the face of US pressures on its financial system.

It seemed to me the story made clear that Obama was not a Muslim but that the campaign was having trouble contending with people spreading that rumor. I thought that in this context saying it was a rumor meant it wasn't true
No Bill. See when something is a rumor it may be true or it may not be true. No one has confirmed it one way or another. This 'Obama is a Muslim plant' story is not a rumor. It's a lie that's been disproved by several news outlets. It's intended to smear and damage his campaign. When you call a lie a rumor you actually give it legitimacy. Get it? Which brings me to this:
Reasonable people can disagree on this. But the people I have heard from are not reasonable. What I find especially disheartening is the idea that our motives are simply assumed to have been malicious.
So you would rather people think you're too stupid to know the difference between a rumor and lie? You'd rather people think you're a reporter who's completely out of touch with his subject? Okay.

Why is the dollar tanking? Because the US economy, more and more, is built on the thinner and thinner air known as credit.
Not only the mortgage crisis, but also consumer spending needed to keep the ponzi scheme going because fewer and fewer well paying actually productive (as in making stuff, not selling it, or figuring out who to sell it to) jobs are around, then of course there's the entire issue of fighting a totally optional war of aggression and followup bloody occupation "off budget".

Already higher percentages of auto payments are not being made.
The problem is that a consumption based economy needs consumers. If the consumers don't have disposable income, the consumption based economy starts to teeter. The people at the top have been, through their sheer unending insaitable greed, been destroying the base of their own house of cards.
One huge problem is that as workers become more and more productive, the need for workers decreases. Our economic model can't deal with this fact. If you have robots tending the fields, there's no need for armies of farmers. Just platoons of robot maintenance men. What do you do with the unneeded army?

No, I'm not a Stuyvesant grad. I didn't grow up in NYC. But my ex-husband is a Bronx Science grad, and he's very nice.

Reasonable people can disagree on this. But the people I have heard from are not reasonable. What I find especially disheartening is the idea that our motives are simply assumed to have been malicious.
¿Well, guess what joo stupid sheethead?
When joo publish previously debunked smears, then try to state that they are just facts that are "in dispute" and that "reasonable people can disagree", what joo are actually doing is giving legitimacy to previously debunked smears.
Now explain to me how one can spread previously debunked political smears on the front page of the WashingPost and not have one's motives be malicious.
Chingado frotacionado, I bathe myself at joo een disgust.
poors at the school is pretty standard.

There are rumors going 'round that I'm cheating on my wife.
I've appointed myself to investigate, and will soon figure out whether or not it's true.

But there was no deliberate "smear job," as some readers charged. The story said clearly in the second paragraph that Obama is a member of a United Church of Christ congregation in Chicago.
Of course, the article also clearly says:
Another e-mail, on a site called Snopes.com that tracks Internet rumors, starts, "Be careful, be very careful." It notes that "Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim," and that "since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when you are seeking political office in the United States, Obama joined the United Church of Christ to help purge any notion that he is still a Muslim."
And, of course, no mention of the fact that Snopes.com thoroughly debunked that email.
definition of a rumor:
gossip (usually a mixture of truth and untruth) passed around by word of mouth
WaPo puts gossip investigations on page one? wow.

I don't believe for a moment the rumors that Deborah Howell is a Strom Thermond love baby nor accusations that she has had 12 abortions. Still the rumors persist. In any case none of that should detract from her professional work.
