Like "The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3." It's criminal!

I showed the original (Matthau, Stiller, Shaw, etc.) to Mrs. D. on DVD last year. First time she had seen it. It really holds up - what a great film. There's not a bad performance or a wasted scene in the film, and casting Matthau was genius.

I wuz being snarky.

Oh, excuse me, I was being fucking snarky.

Gravataroh, what the fuck, since there's the 'let the people vote' folks here I'll just post the whole post:

"We already had top Clinton supporter Harold Ickes, who voted to sanction Michigan at the DNC, then now complains about the sanctions he himself approved.
Now we have Terry McAuliffe himself, as DNC chairman, enforcing the very rules he now thinks should be broken.
Mark Nickolas digs out the relevant passages from Terry McAuliffe's own book:
"I'm going outside the primary window," [Michigan Sen. Carl Levin] told me definitively.
"If I allow you to do that, the whole system collapses," I said. "We will have chaos. I let you make your case to the DNC, and we voted unanimously and you lost."
He kept insisting that they were going to move up Michigan on their own, even though if they did that, they would lose half their delegates. By that point Carl and I were leaning toward each other over a table in the middle of the room, shouting and dropping the occasional expletive.
"You won't deny us seats at the convention," he said.
"Carl, take it to the bank," I said. "They will not get a credential. The closest they'll get to Boston will be watching it on television. I will not let you break this entire nominating process for one state. The rules are the rules. If you want to call my bluff, Carl, you go ahead and do it."
We glared at each other some more, but there was nothing much left to say. I was holding all the cards and Levin knew it.

Tits can also make or break a video, too.

The Great Porn Jihad War Tax: Prolific Porn Mule Serial Woman-Womb Slaughterers

The Nazis murdered on a previously unprecedented scale; however, the efficiency of the porn industry's womanslaughtering is rapidly becoming its rival. If we had accurate metrics to calculate the current porn slaughter of what is very often busty blond white "Christian" women, who often dangle a cross below their necks, we might be able to argue that one of the most efficient contemporary international genocidal operations abounds in this particular white flesh market. The Internet is full of info about white slave trafficking of Eastern European and Russian women. The trade even caused Amnesty International to protest Israel's mass prostitution rings a couple of years ago because many white women were being enslaved there where, unbelieveably, it wasn't even illegal to own prostitute slaves there as of a few years ago.

The time has come and the evidence is available from just the Internet alone for one to be able to logically argue that the United States has and is producing, via its multi-billion dollar per year mob and maffia dominated porn-prostitution industry, a very large percentage of the most prolific serial first-person womanslaughterers in history.

GravatarIf we lose this time, nobody who was in the race this year will stand a chance of getting the nomination. Hillary cannot be so self-deluded she doesn't understand that.

I've had a couple of cartoons published, for which I received...hold on a moment while I get my calculator...exactly nothing.

Which is about what they were worth, really.

No, I think she's trying to damage him enough so that she can run THIS year.

Oh yeah, that's not angry white guys upset with her, that's women, women of color, and feminists upset with her.

Maybe they are all just envious.

Apart from that, I think you're right and you should be defending her against the vicious attacks of angry white guys.

GravatarHope you haz lots of whisky handy. (for yourself)

Gravatara 'deep' strategy based on making a democrat lose so that one could run against a sitting president would be like betting your house on a four corner shot

a much better and much more reliable strategy would be to make sure that you could be vice president if you couldn't be president

so, this accusation assumes that she would abandon a reasonable strategy and deliberately make herself obnoxious to half of the democratic party on a long shot that mccain/huckabee will fuck up enough to make if possible to unset a sitting president

the whole idea is too clever by half

.

GravatarInstead she's making hay on the irrational issues that can make people uneasy about his electablility, and she's dismissive of the idealism of his youth voting block.

GravatarRev Wright is absolutely dead on correct in his critic of US foreign policy. Unfortunately, we live in a country that's too uber-patriotic for self-criticism. And a good portion of the blame goes to the US media who don't include voices of dissent for the average American to hear.

Gravatar"yeah, but my point is that the accusation about angling for four years from now is so elaborate and suppositious that it's absurd"

not absurd at all. if she can't win it's in her best interests for mcsame to get elected.

GravatarThe MCMers have been pushing the Hillary out to get Obama into losing position in the general--which is part of the MCM narrative that Dems will say or do anything, and the Clintons will do that 100 fold, or something. Makes no sense. But the MSNBCers, esp'ly Tweets, have been saying this for weeks now. Getting picked up by other MCMers.

We need that ridiculo spell from Harry Potter to use on them.

Hillary is 62--when she's 66 she will, well, be four years older. In our sexist society, women are not considered good for much at all after a certain age (ageism plus sexism plus not famous means many women become invisible after a certain age--the famous can keep going a bit longer and not be laughed off the public stage). The MCMers' comments about Clinton's wrinkles, that people don't want to watch a woman getting older will be deafening if she tries when she's older.

This is it--this is her year or no chance for the presidency. No way is she angling for him to lose in '08 so she can run against McSame in 2012.

Plus, she has said over and over that a Dem must be in the WH in '09--there's just too much at stake to risk another 4 years of RepThuglicanism.

But that's just my opinion.

Gravataryeah, but my point is that the accusation about angling for four years from now is so elaborate and suppositious that it's absurd

.
Tacitus Voltaire

Well, I disagree. Doesn't seem so elaborate to me for a candidate who is close but can't win to decide to start positioning for the next context instead.

GravatarClinton apparently told Richardson that she thinks if Obama loses to McCain, people will blame her. I think she's right.

Somebody at MyDD said that if she really thinks Obama is going to implode, the best thing she can do is suspend her campaign and be ready to step in. I think that's right. If Obama were to implode, and I don't for a moment think he's going to, they can't turn to her now. That scorched earth thing burns the one who starts it.
