I showed the original (Matthau, Stiller, Shaw, etc.) to Mrs. D. on DVD last year. First time she had seen it. It really holds up - what a great film. There's not a bad performance or a wasted scene in the film, and casting Matthau was genius.
I spent the day cleaning and seasoning four cast iron skillets. They look like new and I couldn't be happier.*

Rev Wright is absolutely dead on correct in his critic of US foreign policy. Unfortunately, we live in a country that's too uber-patriotic for self-criticism. And a good portion of the blame goes to the US media who don't include voices of dissent for the average American to hear.
