GravatarThe Move -- one of the most underrated bands of all time. I put them in the same category as The Small Faces and Slade as UK bands that never made the translation over the pond.

Other great songs by them "Wild Tiger Woman", "When Alice Comes Back to the Farm", "I Can Hear The Grass Grow". RIP Carl Wayne.

Simels has taste!!!

Pleaz zhoot me know. I don't want to offend god...it'z a problem.

GravatarSuxorific. Sux, sucks, suxors, sucksors. Just some thoughts. wow.

GravatarWow, the Move. Saw the static image and thought surely this is going to be some ghastly piece of hippie era pop nostalgia. Substitute "lovely" for ghastly. What a treat! And a veritable compendium of cheesy video effects to boot.

GravatarIsn't Blackberry Way just down the street from Strawberry Fields? Geezus that was bad, even for their time. Let's see some Partridge Family next.

GravatarIsn't the guitar player next to the drummer the lead singer from the infamous Dshingis Khan? Hoo! Hah!

Gravatarfimelf!

GravatarI'm immediately reminded of how one of my favorite moments from "This Is Spinal Tap" is "Listen to the Flower People"...especially the cheesy kaleidoscopic effects during Nigel's sitar-ish solo and Harry Shearer's bassist mouthing (but not singing) "We love you."

Also, IIRC -- and I'm not cheating by googling -- Electric Light Orchestra was a descendant of The Move.

I'm probably giving my age away by remembering that bit of trivia.

GravatarThey've gotta owe royalties to Lennon & McCartney for that travesty.

GravatarDreadful, just dreadful.

GravatarCarl Wayne mouthing Roy Wood's vocal? Wha??

GravatarYeah, some of the Move's early stuff is dreadful, but give a listen to the group's album "Shazam"--one of my favorite examples of 60's Brit-rock. Showed that Roy Wood could sometimes--not always--be a musical genius.

GravatarI love The Move! But my favorite Roy Wood related release is his first solo record "Boulders" which recorded at the same time as the last Move album and the first ELO record.
