Yeah, I did not do so well on them, either. Felt like I had squirrels running around in my brain. Very odd feeling. Although, I don't think I was really depressed, just having a natural reaction to shitty circumstances in my life. Not that I don't think meds are warranted in many cases, but I do think they're over-prescribed - got a problem, take a pill, etc..

Sallyh, it's hard not to feel guilty, I know, but you really shouldn't. Do you blame your own parents for your illness? Probably not. We all inherit things from our parents, whether genetic or habit; it's how we deal with them that makes the difference, I think.
And, yes, Elias, I think that you have a valid point there. If one is so sure of their worldview, it's going to take a lot more to shake them up, whereas if you're more open to possibilities, you tend to think too much, maybe take things too much to heart. I've thought the same thing about artist types; the more sensitive you are, the more susceptible you are to great variances in emotional stability.

No, no they're not. But then, you have to ask yourself, "Am I really depressed, or am I having a natural reaction to my circumstances." I think that a lot of what gets branded "depression" is simply "emotion," and in our society, any negative emotion, especially. Sometimes, it's completely natural to feel down, such as during/after a breakup, a death of a loved one, stressful financial times, etc. Not saying this is always the case either, as clinical depression and things like bipolar disorder are very real, and need to be treated with drugs, but, kind of like the over-diagnosis of ADD in kids, people can get carried away, and stuck on the easy fix of just taking a pill to make it better.

Another thing to keep in mind about a tornado. They create enormous pressure disparities between the inside and outside of the house. So if a tornado is coming make sure you open every window in the house all the way.

This winter did a number on the house, too. I've got drain spouts lying all over the place, roof tiles torn up, the whole deal. I wasn't able to see all the damage until this week.
Last time I did raised beds was with 1x6 pine that had been sealed (sanding sealer & water-based poly).
That worked just fine for me. It lasted for probally 8-9 years, before I finally took them out.

I shouldn't have, but I found TJ's reaction to winter in NJ quite amusing. One morning with the windchill is was something like minus ten degrees. She was literally crying at the thought of getting the kids to school in such cold weather.

I slapped on of my best friends right off a bar stool once, for commenting that MLK Jr day should have been called "James Earl Ray Day".
It hardly matters at this point, and I wouldn't push it, but there's a pretty good argument that Ray was, ya know, innocent.
I saw two boys at the high school yesterday, walking across the lawn, holding hands. *That* wouldn't have happened, even a couple of years ago. It must be a challenge, even now.
I knew J. Edgar Hoover had tapped King's phone calls and knew of his infidelity. I did not know until yesterday that he sent incriminating tapes to Coretta Scott King. What an awful person!
