Our "great newspapers" are not so great after all, are they?
The criminals behind this mess have every reason to distract attention from their own actions. Hence the stereotypes, which fit neatly into the criminal overclass' notion (voiced by the deserting coward when he was an undergrad at Yale) that those not members of the criminal overclass are lazy and shiftless and morally inferior to the criminal overclass.

MIAMI – A Florida hedge fund manager accused of defrauding investors out of millions is missing and his family is worried because he left a note indicating he was "distraught," police said Saturday.
Authorities were interviewing investors and looking into claims that Arthur G. Nadel stole from them, said Sarasota Police Capt. Bill Spitler. It was too soon to say exactly how much was invested, but there were reports the hedge fund could be out $350 million.

The wave of subprime delinquencies appears to have crested. But in October, for the first time, the number of prime mortgages in delinquency exceeded the subprime loans in danger of default, according to The Post's analysis.
I'm old enough to remember when it was just the Big Shitpile.
Seems like I just turned my back and now it's the Great Shit Tsunamis.

Moors and Christians.
I'm disappointed. It's inoffensive.
(I can't eat beans - any legumes in fact - unless they are pate. hence my fondness for Tarka Daal)

Turned out she'd only done it once, because she was convinced it was a scam to make the dealership money.
Yet, this person drove a vehicle down public roads...

unfortunately, Dog, these are calls i have to take.
If I was going to DC and had any dough, I would definitely be in the house for this:
the desperate emails begging for inaug event tickets i'm getting are increasingly funny. myself, i'll be lying by the heated, indoor pool at my resort, sipping wine and eating french food between bouts of spanking-related sex activities, far from a computer.
I'm actually in such a good mood I'll forego the blogwhore.

yes, i'm going to the corner now...

More Ambinder.
Lincoln made sure that he arrived to most of his 70 cities on time. Obama's train is ahead of schedule by about 30 minutes. Change begins!
Haloscan acting means I should be doing something else.
Hasta luego.
(in 30 minutes there will be a sexy 69 hours left until the inauguration.)

Barndog: I figure that's pretty useless, and so far, nobody can find a use for a bowl of sand.

I modified to be 'dumb as a bowl of sand'.
How about "as eating a bowl of sand and not understanding why it doesn't taste good". The trolls have been eating shit forever and are still expecting to acquire the taste.

I thought the stereotype was of people who bought houses that they couldn't afford without no long term plan except for appreciation.
Nothing in the article changes my mind.
