Oregon Man Says He's Pregnant
Transgendered Man Has Had Chest Reconstruction, Testosterone Therapy
March 25, 2008—
BEND, Ore. AP -- An Oregon man is five months pregnant, according to a national magazine.
Thomas Beatie, who used to be a woman, appeared in the most recent issue of The Advocate, a magazine for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender readers.
Beatie wrote the article and it included a picture of him while he was 22 weeks pregnant. According to the story, he went through a sex change, but decided only to have chest reconstruction and testosterone therapy.
Beatie was able to keep the reproductive organs he was born with. The article said he stopped getting the injections and was able to get pregnant.

I know people have calculated this eight ways to Sunday and decided it's not possible, but I really hate that Michigan and Florida were disenfranchised. It breaks my heart, and a country that claims to be a democracy has no business shrugging their shoulders over that many voices not being heard.

China Protests U.S. Mistaken Arms Parts Shipment
By Edward Cody
Washington Post Foreign Service
Wednesday, March 26, 2008; 9:37 AM
BEIJING, March 26 -- China issued a vehement protest Wednesday over a mistaken shipment of U.S. nuclear missile fuses to Taiwan, demanding a thorough investigation and saying the incident had "disastrous consequences."
The strong language reflected the depth of Chinese opposition to U.S. weapons sales to Taiwan, a self-ruled island that Beijing insists is a part of China. In particular, China has regarded with irritation a recent effort by the Taiwanese Defense Ministry to buy advanced F-16 warplanes to enhance its fleet of older F-16s bought from Washington a decade ago and Mirages acquired from France.

On the assumption that no one concedes before the last primary (June), when the voting is over someone will have more popular vote and more pledged delegates. At that point the pressure will be on the 2nd place candidate to concede, and the FL/MI delegates can be seated voting for the winner.
But I have a feeling that Sen. Clinton will face tremendous pressure to conced after NC and IN vote in May.

Sorry, loose ends:
Hmmmm, because of the bone-headed decisions of the political elites in MI and FLA, the voters of those states have to suffer the consequences.
No, not quite. The elected representatives in Michigan and Florida decided, against the wishes of both the RNC and the DNC to move their primaries.
That's what I just said. It was the elites IN THOSE STATES, not the national leadership.

read the language in this statement. china's sitting back just waiting for the opportune moment to pull the plug:
"We demand that the U.S. side thoroughly investigate this matter and report to China in a timely manner the details of the situation and eliminate the negative effects and disastrous consequences created by this incident," said a declaration attributed to Qin Gang, a ministry spokesman. "We urge the U.S. side to keep the promises they have made . . . and stop weapons sales and military contacts with Taiwan to avoid endangering peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the improvement in Sino-U.S. relations."
Qin said China had made a "serious representation" to the United States over the shipment, which he said caused "strong displeasure" in President Hu Jintao's government.

Sinfonian, : The Repukes aren't a permanent fixture, I hope - or at least that's a bug, not a feature
For you:
Thomas Jefferson : " A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt...If the game runs sometime against us at home, we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake. b) This is the primary, not the general. If Hillary is trying to win my support for her candidacy, should she somehow manage to win the nomination (a very unlikely result at this point, simply looking at the math), this isn't the way to do it.
There is a very real possibility that neither will end up with the required 2025 of delegates needed to win.
Then what?
This won't be a problem if Obama supports revotes in MI and FLA. There won't be any doubt then because all the delegates would be involved.
Why wouldn't Obama supporters want a clear resolution to this if they are so confident in what the results would be?
And if both BO and HRC adamantly support a revote, it will happen, let there be no doubt.

And the Dems that went along, not that they should be completely exonerated, did so because the GOP fuckheads tied it to the voting machine bill and made quite clear that the only way that bill was ever going through was with the primary rider attached to it.

Absolutely.
And you?
There's one think I want more than Obama to win. And that's for the fascist to lose. If that means HRC has a better chance, then why wouldn't fellow Dems agree? Especially when aggregate polling has consistently shown that HRC does better against Insane McCain than BO.
Instead, it's a foregone conclusion that it's over and HRC should step aside. If that's not the definition of elitism, what is?

I heard somewhere that the 2025 number was delegates to win without a FL/MI revote (their number of delegates not counted). If they revote (or somehow delegates are allowed to be counted), the magic number goes up to something like 2150.

Unless McCain dies, or he gets caught naked doing something or someone really weird, he will be President this time next year.
Friggin hilarious that so many people believe that a country that put up with Bush for two terms will vote for a sorta black guy from Illinois whose church hates America.
At least Clinton would be competitive with McCain. Repubs have fooled Dems into putting up Obama, the easier candidate to defeat. So, Dems are already losing in this race.

It will happen if both candidates support a revote.
So it _IS fair_ to accept the flawed and incomplete results of FLA and MI, but it would be _UNFAIR_ to do them the way they should have originally been done. And that's not elitism?
Wouldn't it have been great if all the votes were counted in FLA in 2000 and OH in 04?
I don't get you?
