It looks really bad. No one yet knows who actually did it but it looks like terrorism. The Glennuendo is that Saddam had it done.

I suppose it's an improvement. A few months ago he would have been blaming ELF.

Reynolds' assumption that Saddam was behind it is ridiculous. First, he does not have any idea if it is true but reports it anyway. Secondly, it certainly looks like terrorism but that makes me think Bin Laden not Saddam. Third, most of the victims were non-American. It is hard to believe that Saddam wants a stronger U.N. resolution and a larger multilateral force.
There are a couple of reasons why Reynolds would suggest Saddam. First, after all of this time, he does not know the difference between Iraq and Al Qaeda. Second, he knows the difference but want so badly to have the war start he doesn't care if what he reports is true or not.
Personally, I think that his report is best explained by the saying that
"If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."

William Burton had a post on his blog about how Senator Thompson clearly didn't understand the difference between Iraq and Al Qaeda. I can't tell if this conflation is deliberate or ignorant, but it is widespread..

Saddam keeps his head down for 10 years and now, when the entire world is looking at him, he orchestrates a terrorist attack??
Is it too obvious that in the country with the biggest Muslim population in the whole world you might find some, well, radical MUSLIMS that might, just maybe be inclined towards terroism?
