GravatarI'm surprised they're letting us see the results, given that its in Vegas.

GravatarIs THIS the current thread?

GravatarI'm just glad we have our priorities right, and aren't wasting money on an economic stimulus package that would simply be wasted on lucky duckies!

Other than that, Rudy is a genius, and America's Mayor, and will ride 3000 corpses to a sure victory, or at least a decade's worth of weekends at Bernie's.

Carry on.

GravatarI'm reposting this bcz I was so amazed I'd missed just which years Obama said the ReThugs had the better ideas. No wonder Bill Clinton is kinda pissed about that. Those Newt ideas were so great? Those Unitary Executive ideas were so great during the part of the past 10 years under Dear Leader? Killing health care to try to keep the ReThugs in power (Bill Kristol)? Fighting environmentalism? Ignoring alternative energy? Soooooo cooooooool.

I just did the math on Obama saying the ReThugs had the better ideas over the last 10-15 years...

which means beginning 1993--Clinton's first year as president--or 1998--when the ReThugs' big idea was to impeach Bill Clinton.

And St. Ronnie's ideas were 20-30 years ago.

Obama might want to do that math again.

I had not realized, struck as I was by his accepting Reagan's ideas that the country was sick of all those things from the 60's and 70's, that his numbers actually aimed directly at Bill Clinton's presidency.

Wowser.

GravatarLime Rickey: no way Rudy wins Florida. I'd take that to the bank.

The best way to deal with bacon drippings is to put about 1 inch of water in a glass and pour the heated grease in. The bits that can spoil will sink into the water and after refrigeration you can take the clean drippings off the top for use later.

About the stimulus package, I got kind of uncomfortable about it when Rangel was talking about it on Charlie Rose last night. Got the feeling the Dems felt getting BushBoy on board was more important than some other factors, such as getting most of the money to poorest, worst hit citizens.

That sucks. Damn I'm sorry to hear that.

An Ivy League University did a study on United Way giving back in the late 80's or early 90's. They found that if people were forced to give to United Way, they begrudgingly did. But when they opened the field to the environmental coalition, health org coalition, and more choices beyond United Way, total and average gifts went way up, even to United Way.

She also argued that Clinton has a "cultural, political and social relationship with the Latino community, which Senator Obama does not have." Some voters say they are being instructed to return at a later time. We are disturbed by these reports and hope that this issue is resolved immediately. We encourage any voters who were turned away from the polls to return again to their polling place this afternoon to exercise their constitutional right to vote."

Little late for John to start worrying about crappy voting machines. What's he done about it in the Senate for the last 7 years? Fuck-all, that's what. Dickhead.

GravatarHecate--your son & daughter-in-law are so lucky to have you!

I'm sure you and your g'son will have a lovely time.

GravatarG/Son is coming over to spend the night in about 90 minutes. . I think that I'm ready.

It sounds like a delightfully, snuggly wonderful time is at hand.

Gravatarall right, I'm about out of battery. Plus I'm about to be overcome by patchouli fumes.

Catch you patriotz laterz.

"We have received reports from Horry County that voters are being turned away from the polls, because electronic voting machines are not working and paper ballots are not available. Some voters say they are being instructed to return at a later time."

This is pure bullshit. The head of the election officer of Horry County should be displayed on a pike because of this.

It's inexcusable.

GravatarHecate--you might need some red wine, too

Maybe for after he goes to bed.

GravatarUgh, it looks like Edwards has collapsed horribly in Nevada. I know he hasn't had much press, but that can't explain doing this badly after his good showing in Iowa, surely?

GravatarI think that I'm ready.

GravatarIt was the compressor that did it, wasn't it?

In all seriousness, it was the clearance section.

Poor kids making eight bucks an hour probably aren't gonna have a lot vested in what you buy...and I don't blame them a bit. They're fucking sick of living with their parents.

Wow...I'm all over the place.

GravatarA Release out from the McCain campaign South Carolina State Director Buzz Jacobs ...

When it is done to Dems in FL and OH it is no biggie. When a GOP voter anywhere is inconvenienced, you can be sure there will be hearings about the incidents and accidents, hints and allegations.

GravatarI recall something about Poppy changing everyone's withholding so it seemed like you were getting more money, but you still owed it the following year.

The difference BushCo and the Dems change the tax code so that this time we owe it back the next year WITH INTEREST.

GravatarBut Hecate, have you peeled the grapes yet?

Word. There was not a peep out of McCain about what happened to African American voters in Ohio three years ago. He can eat shit and die.

Gravatare, have you peeled the grapes yet?

Shhhhhh! Don't suggest that!

Gravatargotta go and so something else productive...hang the wash, pick up drugs while I still have coverage, chlorine for the spa--the wife loves the hot water, then go root against the U on TV.

best to you bats. too bad about edwards today. there is some real thuggerytaking place on the strip in Nevada, but what else do you expect from the heirs to buggsy?

yup, his idea of flattening the with-holding returns struck me as tone deaf to working stiff reality.
He couldn't know how many people count it as savings and use it towards purchase of the big ticket items like new appliances or an auto downpayment.
He also started to super-tax restaurant wages and tips and he started to tax the free classes offered to university employees.
No fucking taxes my ass.

GravatarThe State (Columbia SC newspaper) reported that voters were told to scrawl their choice on napkins, paper towels, envelopes, whatever & stuff the votes in a box.

GravatarI was making a joke, I think. It wouldn't surprise me one bit, though.

GravatarAnd, you know, the Republican approach, I think, has played itself out. I think it’s fair to say the Republicans were the party of ideas for a pretty long chunk of time there over the last ten, fifteen years, in the sense that they were challenging conventional wisdom." Obama

Gravataris anyone else having trouble with Hell-O-Scam reloading comments in the wrong place?

GravatarI am a bit stunned that Edwards didn't do better--he's the real union booster. Wow.

Being ignored by the MCM is not conducive to getting voters' attention....

Gravataryahoo news just ran Waxman getting results on WH emails investigation. Missing are emails that correspond in the time frame of Valerie Plame leak and the congressional probe of Iraqi intel scandal. Searching for the link now.

GravatarYou're a dumbass, Edwards. If you had had your wife cut your hair, you wouldn't be in this fix.

Or you coulda used a barber without such a big fucking mouth.

Gravatarhah, it's like riding a bike.

You never forget.

Gravatarrumor is that rudy's tax cut will be around $6 trillion... wtf, over?

GravatarLittle late for John to start worrying about crappy voting machines. What's he done about it in the Senate for the last 7 years? Fuck-all, that's what.

He did talk big a few years ago.

Committee Chairman John McCain, the Arizona Republican who mounted a spirited campaign against Bush in last year's early primary season -- and who is the Senate's champion of campaign finance reform -- said "large segments of the population were systematically shut out of the electoral process" in the last election.

If the problems experienced in 2000 are not corrected, McCain warned, rates or voter turnout may continue to drop, and younger voters will not have any confidence in system that they are already highly suspicious of.

And then did nothing.

GravatarAnother win for Mittens!

Gravatarfuck Nevada for player hating on Edwards

Gravatar"...MSNBC just said that their entrance polls - showing big Clinton win - didn't include the strip locations. FYI"
