On the contrary, the whole world knew war was coming, and was convinced that Israel would lose badly, and perhaps be destroyed. It was certainly expected to be a tough war; in Jerusalem alone, 10,000 graves were prepared for the expected casualties. That made the yeshuah that came such an obvious miracle, like the one of Purim. |
