Ah yes - the state of political blogging. I see what you mean. "strangely satisfying - Mmmm" and for so long as Bush bashing games remain the intellectual opium of the left, its not going to get any better.
No wonder Australian politics is so moribund, the left have nothing better to do than play (games) with themselves. I preferred the seventies when the lefties really had passion and fire in their belly. When they screamed that 'come the revolution you'd be first against the wall', and meant it.
You lefties have lost that because you don't believe in anything any more, at least not anything different to the Howard government. And while you occasionally make noises about Howard's dishonesty and compromises, you know you would be just the same.
Then there is the silly excuse that Howard is such a good politician. He only looks that way because his opposition is tired and mediocre.
His recent decline in the polls is nothing the ALP has done to him. It is largely self-inflicted and, if the cynical view is right, will be forgiven in time.
He has actually done something really bad to the Iraqi people, and that is just the last in a long list. There needs to be righteous anger, and the ability and willingness to communicate this to the electorate.
I don't know whether it is shell-shock after 10 years of Howard, or that every now knows socialism has failed, or cynicism about the voters, or deep depression about the quality of leadership available to the party, but something is dreadfully wrong.
Why not spend more time on cat-blogging, eh?

It's so tiresome when other people don't agree with one's own views.
Then again, I'm a little surprised you place any credence in a Fairfax news poll anyway.
Sigh, indeed.

No, Tim, it's just "tiresome" when people reach a conclusion and then don't follow through on it. When people just give up and say "ah well, that's all we can expect from politicians" and therefore give them license to do it more. Well, not so much "tiresome" as "depressing".
And I would have found the falling Bush thing amusing even if it was a generic person - the mechanics of it are kind of cool.

No, Tim, it's just "tiresome" when people reach a conclusion and then don't follow through on it.
An opinion poll of a tiny minority of the voting public, where the pollsters ask a few predictable questions designed at getting a predictable response, represents a 'conclusion'?
If you want to know what people really think, then you probably shouldn't rely on opinion polls.

TSSH Information
Caz = Caroline Hammersworth
The Hack = Peter (surname unknown)
They both live in Carlton, Victoria.
As reported on cazhack.blogspot.com before the comments 'mysteriously' were spammed.

This has nothing to do with me, you know. (If it did, I'd have long since deleted that comments spam.)
And I'd be cynical as to the accuracy of anonymous "tip-offs", by the way. (See: Sweet Comeuppance.)
However, I will admit that I do look forward to their experiencing the sheer enjoyment of having their real names plastered all over the Internet, as they've done and tried to do to so many others.
Schadenfreude, perhaps, but I would find it difficult to feel particularly sorry for them.

You called yourself ANONYMOUS after you had posted your real details online for some time. It was hardly a challenge for 4 year old pre-schoolers with a rudimentary grasp of Google to find your real identity.
Isn't it funny when you express a mild level of joy at the fact someones real identity is exposed, and yet you threatened legal action on the very same. Ironic? No, idiotic.

No, CB, I'd never posted my full name online in any context related to my blog. And no, what they (and others) tried to do wasn't funny at all. And of course I never threatened legal action over it. Any more stupid misrepresentations you'd like to make?
As far as I'm concerned - a person who makes a point of trying to expose other people's real names* particularly from behind a pseudonym themselves deserves to lose their own anonymity.
*Unless the person is being exposed (Caz & Hack) because they've tried to out someone else first (dozens), and therefore waived their moral right to a pseudonym, of course. That wouldn't count.
It's really not that complicated.

It seems that Caroline has done the Harold Holt, leaving Pete to mop up after her mess. Pete is doing what he does best, denying any wrong doing then linking things to a kid with red hair.
It seems the tables have turned.
Lame hack very lame. If that is all you can come up with, a kid with red hair, imelda rsvp etc you are lame. The holder of many secrects are you. Not likely.
At least Lefty has the guts to keep blogging after other publicise his id.

Yeah, I note that Caz's retort is "oh, it's only bad people WHO ARE THREATENING ME AND MY CHILD!" It's not anything I've done, and I'm roolly brave and would keep fighting, but, you know, it's my precious child, so I have no choice but to take my bat and ball and go home.
Nice try at playing the victim.
Actually, Caroline, there've been a growing number of people who you've made real victims of your unprompted spiteful, vicious, personal campaigns, and it's about time you lost the ability to run them anonymously. You're the bloody villain here, not the victim.
(And I don't believe your "oh they threatened my child" crap for a second. Nice attempt to play for sympathy, though.)
Anyway, if this really is your exit, good bloody riddance. (I expect there'll be some purging of the TSSH database tonight.)

Oh, and Hack/Peter's response to Caroline being outed? To implicitly threaten to reveal my address. Charming. I have nothing to do with this at all, and this is his next retort.
The guy's a psycho. And seriously obsessed with me, which is more disturbing.

If Caroline is so noble is protecting a woman who seems to be confused with her, why doesn't Caz reveal her real name to keep the 'stalker' away from the innocent woman.
Face it, nobody threatened their child. They have used it as a cop out before and are using it as one again.
The chooks have come home to roost Caroline.
I agree, the hack has some major issues lefty. He seems obsessed with anyone with any form of notoriety. He secretly loves MsFits. Like in the play ground when a guy bullies a girl because he has the hots for her.
I love how Caroline is playing the victim in all this too. Setting Alan up as an internet stalker.
The only internet stalkers out there are Caz and Hack. They are the sickos. I love all the words of support from the gullible masses too.

It's very typical of Hack/Peter, too. He makes sport with other people's names/identities, but when his is near exposure... he starts threatening the revelation of other details. Home addresses.
Jesus Christ, what is wrong with this guy?
Any normal person in Peter/Caroline's situation would suddenly think, hey, this feels awful - Christ, this must be how it felt for all those other people we tormented! Maybe I should learn from this.
Not Hack/Peter. He thinks - right, I need to raise the level! I need to talk about starting to publish addresses! Cut to six months down the track, when Caroline/Peter's real address is likewise revealed, and they start complaining about how unfair it all is.
(It's also stupid because, since I'm not involved in this identification effort at all, the threat is hardly going to deter the real people involved.)

It seems Peter has got his knickers in a knot and running to the police. He is accusing anyone who does not like them as being involved. He is also threatening to implicate Lefty. This guy is a coward.
It seems to me that there are a large number of people involved in exposing them. A number of cells so to speak who are working independently of each other.
Hack is really clutching at straws with the bounty and birth records thing. HA HA HA

Hey, apparently it's all about me!
It seems to me this mess has your greedy, Lib-in-sheep's-clothing fingerprints all over it. And I know you have at the very least failed to disuade a commenter on one of your sites from offering a $1000 bounty on my head, and another from accessing confidential government documents to have Caz and I outed. I have it all logged, chump. You're implicated.
I had a duty to dissuade a commenter from offering a bounty? And I'm to blame for it because I didn't?
Riiiight.
And "accessing confidential government documents"? What?
Anyway, whilst I will watch Peter and Caroline's sweet, sweet, nourishing comeuppance with a certain amount of, yes, schadenfreude, I'm not a part of it at all, and because I don't particularly relish the idea of being a target of their vicious retribution, I'll continue to merely sit at the sidelines and watch. (I'm sure they'll manage something nasty - that's pretty much what they're good at.)
As long as it's not directed at me, though, it'll be fun watching them implode in a twisted vortex of hypocrisy.

Oookay. I'm not involved in this at all, and the continued discussion here is making the toad concerned throw allegations out that I am. Yup, bizarrely enough, it's blame Lefty time again at TSSH.
So guys, please take it elsewhere.
(If anyone did threaten Caz's child, then obviously they're a fuckwit and will, once identified, presumably be charged. I presume no-one discussing it here is involved in anything like that. These people may well deserve to have their NAMES outed, just as they've done to many others: but anything beyond that is completely unjustified, obviously.)
Nevertheless, whilst I'm fairly confident no-one commenting here would stoop so low as threatening violence against another person, I have no such confidence regarding TSSH commenters. And since they have no actual target, and they seem to be using this comment thread to justify going after me... it ends here.
This thread is NOT about TSSH and whatever (well-deserved) difficulties its proprietors might suddenly be having. I'm going to delete any further comments on the subject.
