I haven't seen the appeal of recumbent bikes, for just the reason you say about the height thing. As a driver, I loathe them. It makes me pay attention to the road. Rarely a good idea.

Yes, tadpole trikes do sit quite low. Delta trikes sit higher. Recumbent bikes sit higher yet.
I guess I could also say that I would hate to ride an upright bike because of how low they are in traffic and then use this as my example: http://

I had a recumbent exercise bike. It was, of course, stationary. And I could do cardio lying down!

Terrifying. I requently encounter one of these on country lanes. The man who uses it has disabilities and cannot support his back.
