Gravatar Wow. I thought I might be the only person alive who liked the first Hulk movie. i don't really have a lot to add to your review, I agree with it. the action sequences were excellent, especially the big desert one. I thought the acting was great. Which I think is what's often missing from movies like that, they worry so much about the special effects and such that they forget that it helps if someone can breathe life into the character.

Gravatar My biggest issue with the Hulk movie had nothing to do with pacing, or action, or even dialogue. My biggest issue with it was the whole father/son relationship they developed between David and Bruce Banner. I found it to be at odds with the entire movie and the only disappointing thing about it.

I liked both Transporter movies, so I can't bad mouth that. I do think that anytime you have this sort of vision change your sequels will fall short. I think Ang Lee did a great job on the original. I'm just glad he did it before Brokeback Mountain...

Gravatar Pat, glad to hear that someone else enjoyed it!

Watchdog, that's a legitimate reason. It means so much more than the kneejerk reaction of most people.

I enjoyed both Transporter movies immensely, as brainless popcorn flicks. The second one was worse than the first, but they're still fun. But I just can't see the same director doing justice to a Hulk flick.

Gravatar I too thought the first Hulk was a dynamic superhero movie, and found the pacing to be a welcome change from the norm .. Letellier, however, is a douche bag

Gravatar Hi Keith, thanks for the visit. Glad to see another movie buff who enjoyed the Hulk movie, too.

Gravatar To be honest I need to see it again. I only saw it once at somebody's house and it was a bootleg copy. Everyone around me didn't like it that much, but I didn't think it was so bad. I always think the first movie in any superhero series is the best, because it introduces the characters and sets the tone for the rest of the sequels.

While I didn't think it was that bad, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. This is probably mostly because I like happy endings, and you just can't have that with the Hulk. He's one of those tragic heros who's stuck with his green lot in life. All the same, I'm looking forward to the next one. I didn't even know there was going to be a next one. But that's where the money is, so of course they're going for it.

Wow I wrote a frickin' book report here when I mostly wanted to say I'm glad you finally got a chance to stop by! How coincidental that my post this morning was somewhat superhero related too!

Gravatar Man you post too often in too short time, I can hardly catch up and then I fear that you won't ever read my comments.

Anyway, I thought Hulk was a blow because Batman is already the king of kings of kings of kings. Of kings.
And heros, of course. But also because I don't like green mushy monsters and the actor was ugly. I prefer Christian Bale.

(PS: That was a little bit of teenager-ism today. I thought you aren't prejudiced enough. And by the way, rtc.org works again. Some prick is still paying my bills. Damnit, I love this internet thing)

Gravatar GDG, yeah, give it another shot when you're not around haters. I'll have to go look at your new post - I missed it earlier.

Sera, I always see your comments and normally reply to most of them.

But Eric Bana is ugly? I don't consider him an ugly guy. And just think about if the Hulk is that big, his penis would just overwhelm you!

Gravatar Maybe she's talking about after he turns into a bulky, menancing green beast?

Gravatar Well, that Green Penis thing.. it struck me as awesome, but then I'm no Goatse person..

Gravatar Well, I did like the movie better than the old television show... that's for sure.

Gravatar I thought the Hulk movie was god-awful, regardless of which god you respect. Also, I thought Crouching and Hidden was worse than any pot-hazed twinkie-infused Kung-Fu theatre flick I ever saw. I'm not an Ang Lee fan, mostly because I think he's a critic's darling that has all the talent of Ed Wood without the enthusiasm. My review is this: kill the director, rape his women, slaughter his children, and hope Sam Raimi handles the sequel.

Gravatar GDG, good point.

Sera, only with practice and concentration could you become a goatse person.

Dave, the old TV show has its high points, though. I've got some of the post-cancellation movies that include Daredevil and Thor, and they're a laugh a minute. I don't think they're supposed to be that funny, but they are.

Grant, I'm actually surprised to hear you say that. I figured you for a guy who would enjoy Ang's stylized take on things.
