Um, OK. That's a little over the top, but I admire his passion for his lifestyle/career.

This is a more meaningful post than all those others.
Very nice tribute... even if he was more than a few sandwhiches short of a picnic.

Wait - what? Steve Erwin DIED?
Dang it Avi, I didn't even know that... I guess none of those bloggers who are simultaneously posting about it are on my blog roll. Fuck, I'm always out of the loop.

I didn't know he died... it reminds me of that documentary (Grizzly Man) that came out a year or two ago about that man who lived like the last ten years (summers only) with the wild bears in Alaska. He kinda tamed them and became a surrogate family member, but then one day, one eventually got annoyed with him and killed him... had him for lunch... oh, the poor nature-loving optimists never knew what they had coming...

Okay, I couldn't hear the sound on that vid for some reason. Did HE kill it? Huh, huh?
I think we should watch the south park episode featuring him in memory...har. "And now I'm going to jam my thumb straight up it's butthole!"

I think Jack Hanna had something to do with it. He's a little too smug.

I'm fairly certain this counts as a post about Irwin's death and some of the standout words.
You should have just posted the video without explaining yourself. Any peons that can't connect the dots need more practice in the magic screen.

It's neat that he passed doing what he loves, though.
When I heard about it I thought of some kind of ironic situation such as a car crash or something.

Not to be a total turd in a punchbowl, but when you're a father and husband and have folks depending on you, should you be out wrestling poisonous snakes?
I mean, great, his four year old son will have all those videos of his Dad to watch. Wonderful. I understand that this was sort of a freak accident -- and I could get creamed by an out of control driver while crossing the street -- but...
NYC Watchdog had it right, he was at least couple sandwiches short of a picnic. And maybe a watermelon too.

Ethel: I think it's a much better video than the one of him and his kid with the crocs.
Denise: Yeah, but I think it's true with him. He really loved animals.
Sara: Yup.
WD: Thanks. He was a bit crazy, but in a good way.
Britt: I'm sure by now you've seen millions of posts about it.
RW: Nice pun.
Cat: Exactly!
Beth: No, of course not. He was very sad about it.
Mist: Hmmm - good thinking.
Clown: Nuh-huh shut up!
Jordie: Yeah.
Su: Cor blimey!
Stilt: He wasn't postal. He was awesome!
Kal: You're a turd in a punchbowl! His dad did the same thing, and he's still alive. He was well-trained and knew what he was doing.

I think the way he left the planet was fitting. A little young but not a shocker. Is it too soon to stop weeping?

Penny, thanks for the visit and comment. I think that being torn apart by crocodiles would probably be more fitting, though.

I did mention the freaking sting ray and also that John Howard (our dear PM) said it was a quinticentially Australian way to die. This statement has fucked with my head more than any statement ever made by the man. How the fuck is being stung by a stingray a quintecentially Australian way to die! Its a fucking randomly bizarre way to die..oh I see.

DG: Thanks!
Carolyn: I agree. Since only three people have died from stingrays in Australia, and since the majority of Australians are not khaki-wearing bonzers who are walking the outback wrestling crocs, his statement makes absolutely zero sense.
