Gravatar Mine says WEST:

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

I have never lived out west. I went from MA to SC to FL.

I can do a Boston or southern accent pretty convincingly, however.

Gravatar Mine also says WEST:

Pretty good. I'm from Cali.

Gravatar Your Result: 16 1/2 miles NW of Ittibingo

Your accent is pragmatic, taking on the flavor of wherever it is you are at at the time. Do you sell time shares? You'd be perfectly suited for that.

Gravatar The Midland:
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

It's right! It said "southern Ohio" and I'm from cental Ohio. Very cool.

Gravatar Mine said inland north thats quite amazing since Im from Michigan But have lived in the deep south for 24 yrs My yankee family is always telling me how southern I sound Heh

Gravatar you don't have an accent.

I have:

I don't think I have an accent either.

PS: thank you.

Gravatar Fab, well it does say Florida, so maybe that has dominated your accent.

Virginia, it would be funnier if you sounded like a surfer.

RW, that's interesting. Did you make that up?

Heather, do you have a good voice for TV?

Ann, I bet your southern friends don't think you sound southern, though!

Miss Ann, I don't think I do, either, but I do have southern friends who think I pronounce certain words funny, like "aunt". I don't think you really have much of an accent - you've got so much different geography I think you've averaged out to accentless. Oh, and I'm glad you liked them!

Gravatar My accent (or absence of) is also from the West, the "lowest common denominator of American speech".

It's funny, though... the poll showed that I had heavy traces of the South, Boston and North Central! I've lived in Atlanta, Maine and New York, so it picked up on that. Pretty kewl!

Gravatar Mine keeps giving an "ERROR" message... Should I be worried?

Gravatar Always.

Gravatar First of all, you're not from Boston. Second of all, Bostonians do not use "wicked" to describe something cool. They use it as an adverb to mean "very."

Gravatar "North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

wich is neat because I am canadian

Gravatar West.

Gravatar Mine says:

Your Result: The Midland

Gee. I'm SOOOOOOOOO fucking surprised. Okay, I'm not. I'm a mutt. I have no accent that I can tell. I can affect one if someone would like. :P

Gravatar WTF? It says I have The Inland North, which couldn't be more wrong. I think I don't have an accent at all.

Gravatar That quiz is crazy. I didn't think I had much of an accent either but it said inland north for me. I guess being born in Michigan & spending quite a few summer vacations up there took it's toll. Then again I do find myself saying "pop" every once in a while...

Gravatar West-
Which is correct, born and raised.
I can't imagine not being able to drive to the ocean.

Gravatar Cat, did you live in Oregon for most of your younger life?

DutchBitch, yup. Apparently your non-American accent broke it.

RW, thought so. Bastard!

Kevin, I am too from Boston! And I had a bit of a retard moment when I was writing that. I meant "very". It was early.

BPR, then I guess people would mistake you for one, eh?

Poppy, really? Was it right?

KG, you are a mutt! :P

Yoda, where are you from?

Brent, yeah, it's called soda. Dur!

Annie, living in Florida and then LA for most of my life, I agree. A lake is not a beach!

Gravatar That was so fucking cool and on the money!!

"Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

Gravatar I'm from Massachusetts.

Gravatar Inland North for me... Bingo.
I have, however trained myself to say soda instead of pop.

Oddly enough, when I'm in Illinois, people think I have a southern accent.

Gravatar ah yes, I remember this quiz. I was Midland, and I just took it again to verify and I'm still Midland.

Gravatar Steph, I've never actually talked to you on the phone, but I'd definitely guess that you'd sound a bit New York.

Yoda, oh yeah - I knew that!

Clown, and, you see, you don't have an accent at all that I can hear.

Dawn, Midland is aka BFE Pennsylvania?

Gravatar I did the whole thing on my site, maybe I will move to Europe get one of their accents.

Gravatar Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

Naw. Really? Friggin' seriously? No fuckin' shit, a'aight?

Tree guesses where I'm from, an it ain't Joisey.

Fuggedahboudit.

Gravatar Robin, good plan. Germans have cool accents.

CP, you? New Yawk?

Gravatar I can't believe the results in my case were also so accurate. Just had to come back and let you know. Like you were interested...

Gravatar Rocky, I care. Deeply.

Gravatar boston

big surprise...

tho living here, i dont have a boston accent cuz i am from the south shore. to have a boston accent you have to be from southie, dot, eastie or another "borough" of boston, the rest are just immitations lol

and we have different boston accents which i find interesting, i have the most influence from the midland, then north central then the west..
