A rock-solid post. We differ on a few points (some of the Clipse tracks are too stark for my outmoded ears; I liked the wrestling scene in Borat), but overall I was quite impressed.
My resolution this year is to write more, and although I'm not sure how much of it will end up on the blog, hopefully I'll be able to come close to matching your insight at least once or twice before 2008 comes knocking.

Strangely enough traffic to I@W is at an all-time high. I don't think anybody actually reads what we write, though. It's mostly just image searches for pictures of neck tattoos and Young Buck and whatnot. I'm guessing it's mostly semi-retarded wannabe teenage thugs from the red states who click on Idle. I may be wrong, though.
And I did think the naked man-wrestling pretty damn hilarious. But my point was there's much much more to the movie than that.

Personally, I must admit that I respect a man more if he has a hot girlfriend (see: Jigga, Borat, etc.). It's one of the most potent indicators of their virility, which I repsond to as a male animal. Obviously personality is key, but that's the thing about the alpha male - he can hold out for the whole package. Why should he settle for less?
