The Other Side

>However the problem with the brain, I find, is that it has, well, a mind of its own. How many times had I not wanted to eat that piece of chocolate but have been overruled by my brain

I don't understand this statement. Is the "I" that didn't want to eat the chocolate not also from the mind that wanted to do eat it? In other words you are talking as if the "I" exists outside of the mind. don't all ideas and concepts originate in the mind, even the concept of yourself

Gravatar I'm trying to figure out the point of this article.

Gravatar Halo:
"don't all ideas and concepts originate in the mind, even the concept of yourself"

Allegedly. (That statement about the 'I' being overruled was made tongue-in-cheek!)

That's wonderful. Let us know how you do.

LOL!

Gravatar No luck so far. But you're welcome to shed some light, BD.

Gravatar Does the ""I" exist outside of the mind"there is a study being carried out. I am sure some of us know what the outcome might be.

Gravatar Hey, there's a new private OTD blog for OTD people only. If you're interested in becoming a reader and/or author, you can email me at outside.the.ballroom@gmail.com. It's called Haven, Not Heaven, and it's meant to be a safe place for OTD people to come together without having to constantly defend themselves from religious people. Hope to see you there!
