marks.html
Here is a quote within it:
The other doctor, who had also conducted the post-mortem of the victims, said: "Of all the bodies, the Israeli victims bore the maximum torture marks. It was clear that they were killed on the 26th itself. It was obvious that they were tied up and tortured before they were killed. It was so bad that I do not want to go over the details even in my head again," he said.

Unchristian, but, alas, that's how I feel today.
The rabbi and his wife stand before the throne of Hashem, and pray for us and the world.
The terrorists have gone to. . . well, the place not made for man. Hatred of Jews is satanic, it is inspired by Stan his own self.

Liberals only condemn torture when it happens to those they approve of.
They didn't condemn Russia's gulag state, which tortured its entire populace. They didn't condemn Saddam Hussein, or Arafat, the terrorist. They won't condemn this. Watch this story get shuffled off the MSM screen as quickly as possible.

Whatever death the terrorists met, it was far cleaner than they deserved. Only something along the lines of drawing and quartering, or being executed in some bloody Roman arena style spectacle, would have given them anything near what they gave their victims. And we don't do that, and we aren't supposed to long for such hideous things anymore.
May G-d avenge the blood of the victims. I do hope the one terrorist taken captive doesn't leave prison alive.

UK Moslems may have provided the funding? I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you!
If this turns out to be true, we're going to get all the usual UK apologists, all over the blogsphere, offering their usual lame excuses, and whining that we Yanks are picking on them: "It's not the Brits' fault! It's the fault of the labor party, which we're going to vote out any day now! Any minutes now! Just watch us! Your average Brit is a stout-hearted fellow, who hates the terrorists, but you Yanks just make too much of this sort of thing! We have our own, subtle British way of taking care of such things, and there's really no problem here, why would you say we have a problem, you Yanks are the problem, you're so Pratt and un-tickety-boo, donchaknow, blah, blah, yakka-yakka, yadda, yadda, zub-zub-zub, blah, (spits!), loud fart noises, etc., etc., and so forth."

"Mohammed said the Arabs are the best of people"---blah, spit, loud fart noises here!
And I hear the one Mumbai terrorist they captured is now whining, and pleading for his miserable life. Some brave jihadis. Death, pain and torture are great for Jews, Westerners and Hindus but not for the oh-so-special Moslems! OOOOh, have pity on me, I just wanted my 72 celestial skanks! Boy am I dumb!
I think it's true that the politicans we elect can only make a difference in speed. Even someone as good as Reagan could only slow things down and maybe make some voters use their common sense more.
I think the real problem is that America has a spiritual disease and politics can't cure that anymore than it can cure cancer.

I'm rather surprised at the severity of the sentence -- I would have suspected that the girl's attorney would have used some variety of the insanity defense. Also, I'm used to thinking of life sentences being associated with premeditated acts of murder. Not to say this wasn't heinous, but I'd be shocked if the sentence isn't turned over on appeal.

But business is business, and Cohen said Pelephone is happy to take advantage of an uptapped market, as neither of the two Palestinian mobile operators, Jawwal and Wataniya, provides the service.
"This was a natural move for us," he said. "We offer services to Israel's entire population — Arab and Jew — and the Arab sector makes up about 15 percent of our client base. In this market almost every person has a mobile phone. Why wouldn't we offer something like this...?"

In the confessional (which is a lot like Vegas in that what happens there certainly stays there-only more so)one feels the need to ask yet again "How do I stop hating when the offense is not to me and mine?" and the answer whether you are speaking to a scholar or a liturgical dimwit and there are a few remains the same, "You have to find a way to pray for them. For the living and the dead. For those who are hurt and those who do the hurting. You are to hate the sin and try to keep yourself from hating the sinner. If you hate them they have won." In one remarkable instance I was told that my soul would suffer more than their's for my inability to conquer hate.
I knew that was right. I knew the hate was wrong. I knew I was being tested by the eyes of an orphaned two year old saved we are told by his Indian nanny and carried away from the dead body of his mother.
I may not be that good a person. I may not be even good enough to try. It has an effect on one. It makes one less than one was before and darkens the soul. It makes you less human to hate them not more. It makes you like they are-it is evil to follow in the footsteps of satan.
The prayers stick in my throat and they burn like sin. I cannot forgive because I have not been sinned against I cannot forget because he is everyone's child. Like another Jew they sacrificed for no good reason they could explain long ago. I must be very dense.

Hey, Raj Pavarishi!
:>)
I agree with Babba and Grayce. It's spiritual cancer we suffer from. Politicians can't cure it.
(Wouldn't mind having some of that chicken soup, though; or a potatoe; I tell ya, it's hard fasting through Advent, worse than Lent!)

We can forgive wrongs done to us, but for others. . . it's good to be able to pray for them, but we also have to remember justice. So I can understand why you're angry, Marie.
I'm glad the child was saved. I'm bowled over by the fact that his name is "Moshe"---Moses.

Yes, a spiritual cancer has descended upon our country. Once upon a time in America, women were the glue that kept family faith together and a tradition of exposure to all of the positives that faith and family could bring.
But suddenly, an unwavering belief in the power of feminism was the new inspiration. Feminism was the new faith. A federal government, excited with the possible spending opportunities available once the tax demon could be extended to two income families, did everything in it's power to assist the feminists. In the process they destroyed the family and faith in anything other than the omniscient wisdom of the federal government.
Maybe I'm totally wrong and it's just a coincidence.
But I don't think so.
All hail Caesar.

There's more to it than just feminism, a lot more. Men have been complicit in the cancer too, as have political leaders, the So-smarts, writers and artists, etc.

Yes, Raj Pavarishi, my church---Antiochian Orthodox---observes a very strict fast for the 40 days preceding Christ's birth, giving the Incarnation the same time, and attention, as the passion. Actually, pre-Reformation all Christians fasted during this period, and, pre-Vatican II, Catholics continued to, though it was falling out of practice, even before Vatican II made it official. The Catholics began theirs on the first of the four Sundays before Christmas.
But the Antiochian Orthodox keep up the old practice, with a dispensation for Thanksgiving! (Thank G-d!) It's a good way to keep one's head up above the hub-bub of secular Christmas, which has eliminated Advent entirely, and goes right to the pagan Christmas season.

As for feminism, I think it's a symptom, not a cause. Studying the 19th Century, and WWI, our world has been in serious trouble for a while. WWI, and the Great Influenza Epidemic of 1918 didn't help, and managed to destabilize the west even more, creating trouble for decades.

On the other hand, it's hard for women to remain virtuous, when men aren't. And a lot of male, and female, so-Smart thinkers have been urging females, supposedly for "their own good", to do everything that's wrong for them, starting with the eugenics movement, "Roaring 20's", and hence from there.

On the other hand, it's hard for women to remain virtuous, when men aren't.
It's possibly even harder for men to be virtuous when so many young women choose not to be. When slutty, so-called role models get front page coverage for each and every attention-getting display of self-debasing immorality, continually lowering the bar on the perception of what is socially acceptable behavior.
It seems to me as if the only event that brings about any form of contemporary virtuism (prolly not a word) in today's young women is the double whammy of the "biological clock" and the school of hard knocks. A broad brush, I know.
Spending Thanksgiving with my almost 30 year old son, who has had a procession of girl-friends that have chosen a career over a relationship with a good-looking, fit, well-above-average earning young man makes me wonder what is going on.

I don't know what's going on, flannelled fool, I don't know your son, so I couldn't possibly say why, if he is so wonderful, young women would rather have a career than marry him.
Considering the prevalence of divorce in the world today, I suspect a lot of women want a career, not because they hate men, but because of the very realistic fear that their husbands might leave them, and they'll be left to support themselves (and their kids). There are also the current high taxes, which drive many women, married or not, into the work force, just to get them paid off---whether they want to work outside the home or not.
Men are free human beings, with free ill, and, presumably, minds they can use, to decide for, or against, evil. Blaming "slutty role models", while there are too many of those, is counter-productive. An intelligent man knows enough to reject such creatures, and not be manipulated by the media.
