Let's see, 10 terrorists, 7 sites tons of torture. Maybe there were more than 10 of them? No, of course not. Couldn't be. I'm shocked that you would say such a thing. The whole problem was that the CIA told us they were coming from one front and they came in the back. That's what happened.
And now the news, Nobody shot anybody in Philadelphia yet today...Oh, wait we have one at KMart. OK-just a second, Someone shot someone at KMart today and the death toll rose by one in the gritty bowels of hell.
Weather at 11. Stay tuned.

A Chabad House is not just a synagogue. It’s more like a hospice in the old-fashioned sense, where spiritual pilgrims, lost souls, traveling businessmen, and ordinary local worshippers alike find a place to enjoy community — with meals, prayer, learning, even a place to sleep. Often there’s a school attached to the institution.
Virtually wherever you go in the world, no matter how exotic — the movement’s headquarters in Brooklyn has selected about 4,000 married couples in 72 countries for service — you’ll find a Chabad rabbi and his wife and family cheerfully attending to the physical and spiritual needs of a diverse clientele. The cheerfulness and warmth of Chabad is the quality that strikes me more than any other. My own regrettably saturnine personality may explain why I can’t fully identify with Chabad but am content to remain a well-wisher and admirer.
Every religion and every denomination has its besetting sins — vulnerable points in its spiritual DNA that, if unchecked, lead to negative behavior or attitudes of a particular kind. With Jews, the weakness is for a pallid rationalism, a way of being overly impressed by secular values. What I so admire about Chabad and its representatives is the way they succeed, more than any other movement in Judaism I know, in transcending these not-uncommon failings, triumphantly yet with a characteristic modesty.

Conquistador your stallion stands
In need of company
And like some angels haloed brow
You reek of purity
I see your amour-plated breast
Has long since lost its sheen
And in your death mask face
There are no signs which can be seen
And though I hoped for something to find
I could see no maze to unwind
Conquistador a vulture sits
Upon your silver shield
And in your rusty scabbard now
The sand has taken seed
And though your jewel-encrusted blade
Has not been plundered still
The sea has washed across your face
And taken of its fill
And though I hoped for something to find
I could see no maze to unwind
Conquistador there is no time
I must pay my respects
And though I came to jeer at you
I leave now with regret
And as the gloom begins to fall
I see there is no, only all
And though you came with sword held high
You did not conquer, only die
And though I hoped for something to find
I could see no maze to unwind

I have to comment on the AP story you posted a link to called "8 Muslims arrested for damaging Dhaka sculpture"
The article states,
--------------------------------------------------
---
"It's a shame, it's an attack on our secular culture ... this is a very innocent artwork," he told The Associated Press by phone. "It's like my child."
--------------------------------------------------

You know John Stewart of Comedy Central's "Daily Show," once made fun of our selective outrage against the Taliban by saying something along the lines of "We don't care when you violate human rights or kill inocent people, but destroy an ancient statue..."

At this point, I don't think anything will turn the world against jihad, at least not our so-smart elite leaders.
Jews tortured and murdered? Over a thousand Christians killed in Nigeria? Ho-hum, move along, nothing to see here. Oh, wait! Moslems are offended. Do you hear me? Moslems are OFFENDED! Their precious olive trees are being raped by Israeli fiends! We must pity them! We feel sorry for them! Moslems are the most victimized people on earth! Waah, waaaah, copious fart noises, etc., and so forth.
With Mumbai, and the attacks on Christians in Nigeria, I think the jihadis are stepping up the pace now, just in time for Christmas, and Obama's swearing in as president. Gird your loins, ferals, it's really starting now. . .

As a result of these European and Soviet influences, the jihadis are inspired by a real lust for blood, and are members of a cult of death. Murawiec has a wonderful eye and a fine nose for telling anecdotes, such as that of Jordanian Prime Minister Wasfi al-Tell’s assassination at the Sheraton hotel in Cairo in November 1971. One of the major figures in the repression of the PLO in Jordan, al-Tell had been the object of death threats following “Black September,” and Arafat’s vengeance was swift and brutal:
Five . . . shots, fired at point-blank range. . . . He staggered back against the shattered swing doors . . . and he fell dying among the shards of glass on the marble floor. As he lay there, one of his killers bent over and lapped the blood that poured from his wounds.
Murawiec calmly draws the proper conclusion: “Something out of the ordinary was occurring, not war in the accepted sense, not political conflict or even guerrilla warfare.”

By the way, Babba, referring back to a previous thread, the original feminists, the Suffragettes, were actually extremely virtuous, nothing like the modern feminists. They were pro-family, pro-life, anti-abortion, prostitution, pornography. Unfortunately, their movement, and philosphy, was superceded by the good-time, "emancipated" (not really) hedonistic 20's Flapper, and the eugenics movement, which saw women mainly as baby machines, useful only insofar as they could chunk out babies of a superior race. Also, the great divorce plague started gathering steam around then. . .
There have been good movements in the 19th-20th Centuries, such as the civil rights movement, that, invariably, seem to get swallowed up, or overwhelmed, by evil ones. Blacks turning away from the vision of Martin Luther King, to embrace welfare, gangsterism and---G-d help us---Islam; feminists making a mockery of real womens liberation; liberals becoming anti-liberal; and, finally, the Boomers of the 60's, doing a 360 turn on everything, and embracing communism, terrorists and any kind of tyrant, so long as he could pass himself off as "progressive", and an enemy of facist Amerikkka. Russia was good. Islam was noble. America and Israel were evil. Up is down, night is day and black is white.

what am i to do TODAY about things that haven't happened yet or that are happening thousands of miles away?
all i can do right NOW is pray, ask what God would have me to do prepare myself and my family, and continue to do what's in front of me (cook dinner, walk the dogs, drive to soccer practice, etc).

NAIROBI, Kenya (Dec. 2) - Pirates chased and shot at a U.S. cruise ship with more than 1,000 people on board but failed to hijack the vessel as it sailed along a corridor patrolled by international warships, officials said Tuesday.
The captain of the M/S Nautica ordered passengers inside and gunned the engine, allowing the ship to outrun the pirates' speedboats in the Gulf of Aden on Sunday, a company spokesman said.

When I was young and knew such things
I knew that it was wrong
But I went there anyway and I just didn't gird my loins.
It was a shame but I told them
That I didn't know no better
And they let me get by
I never even questioned it and
I never knew why
We seemed to be ok and we lived right through it all
At least the most of us did
Even though you looked so scared
I'm never really sure of that
And I never really cared
But they let me get by
I never even questioned it
And I never knew why
There were many times they asked me
And I didn't know the reason
I would make it up and wonder
if it might have been high treason
I was never really sure of that
and I never really cared
as long as I got by
And I didn’t get me snared.
So now it’s awful later in the darkness of my day
The wanderers are wandering
And some have gone to stay
I sit beside the railroad tracks
And strum my old guitar
Can’t hear the song I’m playing cause
I guess I’ve come too far
I was never really sure of that
Cause I never really cared
And they let me get by anyhow
And I knew I had been spared

1) You are a man...

Wimmins are not supposed to be bloodthirsty like moi...

Ohhh and the other thing was that I was not genteel enough in my delivery...
They probably didn't like smacking their noses on my opinions that jutted out in the landscape like Ayers Rock (Uluru), the Grand Tetons or the rock formations in Monument Valley...

How to get by day by day?
I don't know, Joyvox! Myself, I'm debating between banging my head against a wall, or checking into the San Diego Marriott Hotel. Or doing both. I can bang my head at the Marriott, as wella s at home.
Or maybe I'll try the San Diego Downtown Holiday Inn.

"I loathe you AI and all that you stand for". _ _ _ _ _ _ _ stated coldly. He took another drag on his Marlboro. "You're no woman; you're a machine, a malfunctioning one".
"My machinery is working just fine; you can't handle a strong woman can you?" AI asked, tossing her hair insouciantly. She crossed her legs briefly revealing her milky thighs.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ twitched, his eyes involuntarily drawn downward.
"You're a bitch, a cruel, heartless bitch" he spat. "You'll never add me to your pathetic collection of peeps..."
"Oh but I already have. You spend every waking moment thinking of me. "She rose and crossed the room to him with a panther like gait.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ stiffened, he hated her, hated her attitude, hated her willfulness, and yet here she was. He could feel her breathe. His pulse raced.
"If you're a man, prove it." She challenged.
Their eyes locked, a moment passed and then they were entwined in each other's arms, moving like a single entity.
It was all so terribly wrong...

I am going to take pics tonight, we are expected to get another 3 inches of snow tonight to tomorrow or sometime tomorrow...
So the pics will be what they are, unless I have a chance to take some when the snow/ice melts...

Wondered about that "corridor patrolled by international warships"
and the "International Maritime Bureau" mentioned in your link, Peacekeeper,
and went searching...
...found mention of an "international flotilla patrol", and keyed that in,
and came up with this article...
...it is not a recent article -- it is dated in Oct.
-- but it answers the questions I've had,
concerning that piracy epidemic and what is being done about it...
...very detailed, pretty good:

From Ralph Peter's latest:
"Indeed, jealousy is the great unacknowledged strategic factor of our time.
Apart from being the world's largest (if raucous) democracy, India shares a trait with the United States that infuriates Islamists shamed by the abysmal failures of their own societies: India is a success story. And Allah had nothing to do with it.
What does it all mean for us? We Americans still re fuse to learn the lessons of 9/11: Evil is real, hatred's delicious and those who can't bear their self-wrought disasters are desperate for someone else to blame - and we and the Indians are it.
You can't reason with faith-drunk sadists. The terrorists who attacked New York City and those who struck Mumbai want to kill people. Slaughter is the only thing left that validates their faith.
All the complexity of counterterror operations comes down to three essential requirements: Superb intelligence, ruthless determination and tremendous patience.
Intelligence helps you find the enemies you need to kill; determination means you kill them - and patience means accepting that even a successful fight will take decades, if not generations."
