I haven't seen the !Russians! live. It's entirely possible that each band could suck independently on any given night.
Persoanlly, I like Snowden and think they're a tight live act, but they weren't a good fit for Making Time. It's a dance party, and they're not a dancey band. LCD, Soulwax, Hot Chip, Rapture, White Rose Movement, etc. is what people expect at MT - Snowden just aren't trying to make that kind of music.
