As for my position on the war in Iraq, I support the president and do not believe he purposefully distorted or ignored intelligence. He didn't lie to us. We're there, we've deposed a madman, and we're killing terrorists. However, I believe we did not place sufficient troop strength in Iraq to secure the borders at the outset and that has prolonged the war and encouraged the insurgency. And I also think the president has not done a good job of communicating regularly to the American people (apart from careworn cliches and bromides) about the progress of the war and the key benchmarks/hurdles he and Donald Rumsfeld want to achieve prior to a phased withdrawal. So, bottom-line, I think the president and the administration could be doing better.

Your weblog's name seem familiar... So I can't say that I just came to it, for the first time (as I've done, in past days, with a few other blogs). Did you re-design your template in recent... uhhh... months? (Due to CRs and Grad school, I have been out-of-the-loop for some time... ;-) ) Anyway, while I don't agree with some of your views (I am a traditionalist conservative... but then again, I haven't read any of your posts that pertain to actuallly supporting or opposing the Iraq war - though I think that you support it), but I think that this looks like an appealing and thoughtful site, and I think I will be adding it to my blogroll. (I am sorry for the lack of updates... That should turn around soon, with the special holidays coming up - and during Finals Week, I may have some guest bloggers.) Keep up the good work here!
