You didn't serve in the military? Then you have no right to free speech! You haven't visited a VA hospital? You have no right to express your opinion! You're not a true Christian! Murtha is a brave, courageous man willing to speak truth to power. Remeber when Jeffords switched parties because he wasn't invited to the Teacher of the Year luncheon? Check Murtha's comments and you'll see what is really making him mad...the White House won't return his calls! Haven't you heard the CIA and the Massad planned 9/11! And people wonder why the Democrats are the minority...oh yes, it's the Diebold machines!

When you and/or any of the rest of your ilk start enlisting, then you might have a leg to stand on, argument-wise. At this point, you're just another whiner trying to get other people to enlist and die so you can keep getting cheap gas.

I wonder how many of YOU have two purple hearts and a bronze star who like to play down his service.
He droped out of school to join the military and worked his way up the ranks. What did you do?
Are you waiting for a speacial invitation from the recruiters themselves or can't you use the 2 feet the good Lord gave yah? if you feel so strongly about your views please do sign up. Please incourage your children and all your eligible relatives to do so as well. As you say, we need as many able men and women as we can get.
Have you even spent any time at VA hospitals or volunteered for VET causes? Talking to me after you do.
There is only one other member of congress that visits the VA hospital more than Murtha and he goes several times a week and has done so for YEARS!!! way before all this TV pub.
What have you been doing?

Do you still believe 9/11 was a terrorist attack where 19 Arab fundamentalists on orders from laptops in caves on the other side of the world outsmarted our trillion dollar defense and intelligence network? Doesn’t that sound like an outrageous conspiracy theory? Have you heard the alternate conspiracy theory: the one where radical elements in the U.S. Government wanted a transformation of foreign policy and increased military spending, and in order to do so, they would need a “New Pearl Harbor“ to galvanize the masses to a war agenda(1). To ensure such an event, these individuals actually plotted and carried out such an attack, 9/11, and killed 2,986 Americans. The question is which story better explains the facts surrounding the day of the attacks?
White House: reported Abramoff actions "outrageous", "unacceptable"

Asked about the reported plea deal, McClellan told reporters that if Abraham broke laws, "he must be held to account for what he did."
Lobbyist Abramoff's `Equal Money' Went Mostly to Republicans
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/ne...GJUbSI&

Between 2001 and 2004, Abramoff gave more than $127,000 to Republican candidates and committees and nothing to Democrats, federal records show.
U.S. President George WMD Bush calls indicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff ``an equal money dispenser'' who helped politicians of both parties.
Controversial lobbyist had close contact with Bush team
http://www.usatoday.com/news/was...moff- bush_x.htm
Abramoff raised at least $100,000 for Bush's re?election campaign, becoming one of Bush's famed "pioneers."
A US grand jury in Guam opened an investigation of controversial lobbyist Jack Abramoff more than two years ago, but President Bush removed the supervising federal prosecutor, and the probe ended soon after.

Abramoff has serious juice to get a favor like that from Bush. Is Abramoff blackmailing Bush over 9-11, given that Mohammed Atta was a guest on Abramoff's casino ship shortly before 9-11?
SunCruz Casinos fraud indictment
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jac...i/ Jack_Abramoff
Prior to the events of September 11th, 200l chief hijacker Mohamed Atta and several of the other 9/11 hijackers were reported to have made multiple visits to the SunCruz casino cruise ship off the Gulf coast in Florida. [16] This has led some to speculate that Mohamed Atta was using the casino to launder money for al-Qaeda and that possibly Atta was involved in a scheme with Abramoff and the mob to smuggle heroin. [17] To date none of these allegations has been confirmed or investigated.
If you type "SunCruz Casinos turns over documents in terrorist probe" into a search engine, you will find multiple cites for the original AP article confirming that 9-11 hijackers were seen aboard Jack Abramoff's casino ship.

Murtha's comments are really not that extreme. Is it any different than chimp boy sending in troops to die when he or his VP or Rummy never saw combat. I mean at least chimp boy did a little guard duty. Cheney had I think 5 deferments for service.

Murtha's comments are a "direct-hit" criticism of this adminstration's pre-emptive war and mishandling thereof. Quite simply, the Bush administration is dishonest and inept (a lethal combination).

I noticed quite a few links to Christian and Evangelical sites on your blogroll. I was wondering where precisely in the teachings of Jesus you find support for the notion that fighting in a war as a soldier is a moral thing to do for a follower of Jesus. How would such a position square with Jesus' clear comment about his followers - and his kingship: "My kingship is not of this world; if my kingship were of this world, my servants would fight, that I might not be handed over to the Jews; but my kingship is not from the world." John 18:36.

The man served 37 years.
Cowardice isn't in his vocabulary.
This is an act of conscience, not cowardice.
If you can't see the distinction then the problem is with you.

Of course he wouldn't...er...couldn't serve. We can't spare him from the homeland front! He's fighting the war at home, from his couch, like 99% of the right-wing warbloggers.
