Gravatar Well, in a way he's right. They both blend in to his surroundings. Tell him you might lose him because you wouldn't be able to see him! Never mind; don't tell him that.

Peach often thinks she matches because pink and pink are the same -- did you ever see a girl dressed head to toe in different shades of pink? Ugh!

Gravatar Little Brother likes to color-coordinate his SOLID t-shirts and shorts, so he is head to foot in, say, royal blue.

Gravatar Let's keep those two apart. A match would not be a good thing -- can you imagine how their family would look in pictures?

Gravatar My kids have often put together outfits I would never wear, but at some point I quit fighting it unless we were going to church or a party. If it is just running around town, no big deal. People will know he dressed himself.

Gravatar I'm with Nicole. Every child should have two buttons: to start, one that says "Daddy dressed me today," and then when they're older, "I dressed myself today."
As an "It could always be worse" scenario, I saw a child in a Batman costume at a science museum. His mom was relieved when I didn't bat an eye. I shrugged and said, "You never know when you'll need a superhero, you know?" It was clean, well-fitting, and weather-appropriate. Why fight?

Gravatar I pretty much let my kids dress themselves accept for church or going out for a special purpose.

But, this afternoon we were going out to the market and as we were getting in the car, I told my daughter to go inside and change. She had been playing dress-up and then completely forgot that she still had on those goofy clothes. She's eight. She would have been totally embarrassed if she had realized it at the store.

Gravatar Barb, LOL, if those 2 did get together, their kids would need Garanimals for sure!

Normally I don't fight the outfit if we're just going to the supermarket or something. But there are other times when it's more important to at least wear clothes that "go" together. Or don't clash.

Gravatar you reminded me of the movie Jimmy Nutron. When all the parents are taken one of the children is singing on the streets I am out in public and my clothes don't match. I laugh so hard at that line because it is something I always wanted to do as a child.

Gravatar Therese, I had forgotten about that movie scene until you mentioned it. That part is SO funny!

Gravatar I'd be ok, it's just out and about, right? Plus, people know you didn't choose the outfit.
