(semi-seriously: there is NO color scheme that will please everyone. But the old color scheme had serious readability issues: certain browswers and monitors showed the links in such a light shade of green that it really was impossible to read them. That's not ok. So I changed it for readability more than for esthetic reasons.)
My new motto: you can get your Caracas Chronicles in any color you like, so long as it's brown.

People can play a bit with link colours (page owner by adding css code to force a given colour, users by resetting the default link colours in their browsers)
I think you can force your view of every link colour, I have to check that out.
Some groups (South Africa, companies) opt for using a lot of colours so that everyone is a little bit pleased (but then only a bit)

I am sure all of us who chose for "Stunning" did so upon a long reflection and once we had seen it was the only adjective that gave more freedom of interpretation.
I hope Chavistas do not use this kind of poll as an idea for the next referendum:
