I'm on the nonfiction middle grade/YA judging committee. Personally, I'm thrilled. I read a fair amount of nonfiction, but I love really well written engaging stuff that reads like fiction (for that matter, I love fiction that includes lots of information on a certain area, historical time period, or subject matter that it reads a bit like nonfiction).

I'm sorry you get non-fiction face. When I was in journalism school, I got "youwannabeaWHAT" face, like I'd just announced I wanted to make toxic sludge and smear it on people. Which, come to think of it, is pretty close.
