This is wonderful news. Selling a second book may actually be more satisfying than selling the first. You sell the first book and you think, Could this be a fluke? But when you sell the second book, you're workin' on a career. Good for you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, everybody. Seriously, I could barely wait to get the word out among you folks, and I really appreciate you all sharing in my giddiness.
And yes, Gail, you may be on to something. It's certainly a different kind of satisfaction. Now I can stop being concerned with whether the first one was a fluke, and move on to other concerns.

WAHOO! A.L. is da bomb!
A mysterious "V" always stands for vomit in my mind when it comes to making kindergartners chuckle ... so I'm guessing this is a book about the various ways that kids around the planet describe throwing up. "Some Vomit Terms" would be too dull, but am I close?
BTW, it's "Bomi" in Bangla, my mother tongue.

Congratulations, Chris. That is truly awesome and you deserve all the success in the world. Nice when talent and hard work are rewarded.
By the way, Law & Order: SVT was always my favorite. Does your book have pictures of Ice-T in it? :-P

I repeat: the "V" does not stand for "vomit."

total random shot: is SVT that medical shorthand for heart palpatations and fluttered beating and whatnot, you know, supraventricular tachycardia? just one of those things i happen to know about first hand, which is why it popped into my head.
my second guess would have to do with a band from my old SF stomping grounds back in the early 80's.
either way, congrats!
