Congratulations! I'm really glad you were able to get access to all of that. In college I would listen to shellacs on an old gramophone in the back of the library. I can't believe you got to listen to a _cylinder_. I guess that the grooves you were listening to were probably impressed on that cylinder by the man himself.

Well, there I go being unclear. I heard the original recordings of Leadbelly, yes -- but not the original media (aluminum disks) on which they were recorded. But all those scrapes, crackles and pops from the original disk-cutting machine sounded great on the CD I was listening to.
