I followed the Rays all year and never heard Shields nicknamed, "Big Game". It did not come from the Rays org. or their fans, but from TBS, to hype the ALCS. TBS have done this fine young pitcher a wrong, damning him with their usual idiotic babble.
Sorry. I am wrong. The name did come from the Rays, while Shields was in the minors, I have just learned. Well he came up pretty big game last evening.
