Aw, I wish you would give in to the call and knit use a few stripes. It might be sort of Pippi Longstocking-ish and very cute. I'd love looking at my feet to see those stripes.

All I can say about the "luck" is to hang in there. My best friend had all kinds of stuff like this happen to her last year and all you can do is pray and hang on.
