I think it's a grand idea. Because mankind as a whole pay less tax income than they would if crimes rates were as low for women as for men, those men who don't commit crimes and therefore remain tax paying citizens should pay more. The logical next step is to look at the relative contribution of womankind to the tax intake and if, as I surmise, it's lower then working women should pay a tax to balance things out. If this reduces the number of women who want to work, then the ones who still do should have their share rebalanced again.

Both genders should pay their fair share, after all...

I think smokers should get tax refunds because they die young and don't gobble up medicare and social security benefits in the same way that non-smokers do.

Questions: Do smokers pay more in health insurance premiums or is smoking considered one of those "pre-existing conditions" that can create problems in getting some health coverage for smokers?

Note: I am not into the idea of people getting rewarded or punished for their choices and behaviors through taxes of any kind.
