actually, the jury was hung, but spared the defendant from being hung on that day...

my co-woker told me that the prosecution's case wasn't strong because there was not an obvious link between the defendant and the drugs he was allegedly trying to sell. also she filled me in on the jury room antics involving issues of threatening bullying of some jurors toward other jurors and others' beliefs that racism was the motivating factor in the whole thing since the defendant was black and the arresting officers white. also the amount of drugs (street value) was about $3,000. not much given how much it probably cost to push that case through the system.

and the beat goes on...
