To the People

Isn't Philly the city of brotherly love? Doesn't that mean sex clubs?

SHAUN Alexander!

Great chapter in Dan Savage's "Skipping Towards Gamorrah" on swingers...

Apparently, there are MILLIONS of them -- and no politician has yet to make "swing-free" marriage a national issue (thankfully).

The cool urbane Philly food scene mystifies me as the place doesn't seem to have enough well-paid jobs to support it, but it exists.

How many teams has Reggie White played for? It seems like five already have had jersey retirement ceremonies. And isn't he that horrible homophobe zealot?

Thanks for the plug with the Continental Midtown review. If you are styaing in Philly a little longer, and you liked Continental Midtown, I would definitely suggest you head down to 2nd and Market. Here you will the original Continental, which opened in 1995. Two other great restaurants owned by the owner of Continental Midtown (Stephen Starr) that are near the place you are staying is the Striped Bass (15th and Market St) and El Vez (13th and Sansom St. You will have to travel down to Old City to find a lot of his other cool restaurants (Jones, Budahkan, Morimoto, etc). If you visit his website, I'm sure you will definitely find some more cool restaurants of his. But you are right, Philadelphia definitely has a lot of amazing restaurants!

About the question in regards to the high paying jobs in Philly, a lot of people who dine in Philly come from the Suburbs of the Main Line and Radnor. But there is definitely a lot of high-net worth families all throughout the city that work in Philadelphia. Philly has a lot of high paying jobs, they are just under the "radar" when compared to other neighboring cities.
