The Real-Life "V for Vendetta" will probably not be revolutionaries fighting a Christian conservative fascist state. It will be revolutionaries fighting a "progressive" public health fascist state.
If recent trends are any indication, it would be both. In Washington State, the overly strict anti-smoking ban that passed here had higher support from Republicans than Democrats, and had its strongest support from Christian conservatives.
From what I've seen here and elsewhere, many public health issues are initially pushed by progressives, but taken to an extreme by the Christian right once it becomes an issue with more of a moral consensus.
