why is it that everytime someone does something bad or grotesque, it's immediately likened to the holocaust, the nazis, or hitler?
you know grave robbers stole gold teeth too.

Jenny,
It may have to do with the fact that nobody would come to the defense of Nazi's, except for you. Then again, you're probably a Nazi.

She's not only a Nazi but is clearly also an anti-dentite.

Sounds like Much to do about nothin':
"..."Asset forfeiture is a fairly routine procedure, and our attorneys were under the impression that these snapped out like a retainer," said Emily Langlie, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office in Seattle.
Once the government understood that removal of the grills could damage the defendants' teeth, they abandoned the seizure attempt, she said..."
Hardly Nazi, anti-dentite behavior. Enough sensationalism already.

I'm with Wiglaf - I was also under the strong impression that most "grillz" were removable, like a retainer, especially since that what's dentists VERY STRONGLY urge people to do with, if they even get them at all (which, as I understand it, is not recommended for dental health reasons).
This is much ado about nothing.

The principle source of information is the defendant's lawyers so it goes without saying that not only is the source biased, but they are the greatest possible biased source since their effectiveness as defence council depends upon them stretching reality to the breaking point.
Why is it people are so quick to demand someone loose their job as the first poster wishes? We all make gaffes in our work lives and our personal lives. Let's just accept that there was a mistaken judgement based upon failing to acquire a complete set of facts. The full facts would have been acquired as soon as the thugs, uh defendants, reached the dentist. The professional responsibility of the dentist includes non-malfeesance and patient consent. Regardless of any court order that existed, the dentist or any health professional should have heeded their professional duty to not touch a non-consenting patient. Court order or no, the dentist would have been liable for an assault and battery for the unconsented performance of a medical procedure.

They were FACING charges.
They weren't even convicted.
What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Asset siezure anti-laws are the main cause for concern, (done without a jury, or judge... just police being the executioner). These actions do tend to remind one of Nazi Germany.
And firing the guards of the cattle-cars is way too good for them.
By the way, many dental bridges and dentures just pop right out... think they should be siezed too? And why not then?

Innocent until proven guilty has nothing to do with asset forfeiture.
You're accused, the gov't steals everything it can touch, you're free to go now.
Of course, as people have already noted, this is much ado about nothing.
Nothing at all.

In the metaphor that is the phrase "War on Drugs," civil forfeiture is giving the troops permission to loot.
