A friend of mine works with monkeys in a research lab.

One night, one of their monkeys got loose from his cage, and was jumping around the room antagonizing the other monkeys (still in their cages). When he started shaking the cage of the alpha male, the alpha male reached through the bars, grabbed him by the tounge, ripped it out of his head, and ate it.

I'm not creative enough to make that up.

Our very own National Zoo lets the monkeys out of the cages and walk above visitors on a tightrope. They are prevented from coming down and attacking by low voltage fencing.

Nothing stops them from throwing feces on Iowa tourists. GO MONKEYS!

Can't they just drop from the lines onto the ground? too far of a drop? I've always wondered why they don't escape.
