To the People

This exchange made me wonder about the impact on Sen. Clinton's possible presidential campaign. (And yes, I'm in the minority who believe she may not run.) Obviously there's the risk that the ex-Prez's "prior bad acts" come back into play, but Hillary may also have the problem of having her husband suck all the oxygen out of the room by defending his record versus promoting his wife's platform. This dynamic hasn't existed before, even in the case of Bush II following Bush I. How much can Hillary "distance" herself from Bill on issues like capturing bin Laden?

Seems fine to me. Especially since Democrats blame Bush for 9-11. He only had 8 months to deal with bin laden. Clinton had 8 years. During this time al Qaeda almost knocked down the world trade center, blew up two of our embassies and attacked one of our aircraft carriers. It's more than fair to ask him tough questions on this issue.

i think it is more than fair to ask him these questions too. but i would like to see the press also ask really tough questions of the bush administration, but i just haven't seen much of that. i mean everyone is simply rolling over about all of the lies we were fed leading up to the war in iraq, for example. i think there seems to be a real fear among to press to go up against this administration and be possible labeled unamerican or as being sympathetic to those "trying to destroy america" and give away our secrets to the terrorists by simply raising questions about the administration's intentions...blah blah blah.

So...what? We should give Bush 10 years too before we ask tough questions of him?
That's just going down the lane of "History will redeem my actions". Why not just let a murderer walk free until History can villify his murders?
And Wallace is right, hindsight is 20/20. I doubt chamblerain knew hitler was going to be such a huge threat when he declared PEACE like Boss Nass at the end of Phantom Menace.
Not to mention all the hullabaloo that was raised when Clinton tried to bomb other countries preemptively and all the republicans in the senate brought up Wag the Dog.
