To the People

It was eerily similar to a conversation I had a number of years ago with a lefty professor friend who thought libertarians wanted to abolish the three branches of government and create a wise council of elders to rule the country.

brillant...yet accurate

meant to add...I had a similar discussion at work today. if discussion is the proper term for the babble coming out of this lady's mouth

wow. Shays sounds like a big baby.

Any Youtube links yet?

wow. Shays sounds like a big baby.

He almost always comes off that way. It's a pity that my district is Murphy vs. Johnson. I've wanted to vote against him since his sniveling comments about how baseball didn't genuflect and tongue his balls during the steroid fiasco.

I was there too. In all the coverage, this article is the only true description of what happened. Phil was clearly dominating because he sincerely tried to discuss the issues and the media looked for Shays/Farrell irrelevancies.

Four years ago, I asked Shays about the First Amendment because he supported restricting political speech. His response? I had been brainwashed. I'm not kidding. He actually said to a pregnant voter standing up at a local library that if I disagreed with him, I had been brainwashed. No wonder he wanted to supress me!

palmer,

I can't find anything on YouTube yet; the closest is this 2 minute clip from News 12, which covered the debate. Of course they don't even show Maymin -- there's a quick flash of him standing between Farrell and Shays -- let alone play him speaking, but the clip does give a good sense of what the other two were like: Farrell hyperaggressive and Shays gloomy and defensive.

In my highly subjective opinion Maymin won the debate simply because he offered specific courses of action, whereas the other two just squabbled. But you know I'm just a stupid idealist that way.

Try this:
http://wtnh.com/Global/story.asp...y.asp? S=5498458

and then click on "Watch the 4th Congressional District Debate."

Notice then in the link's article Mark Davis does not even mention Phil Maymin. Then watch the debate and see for yourself the exchange between Phil and Davis. The Chief Political Correspondent looked like an idiot. Could the exclusion of Phil in the article he wrote afterwards be his little revenge?

The debate can also be found on C-Span's campaign network site. http://www.campaignnetwork.org

You can view most of the debated all over the country there. It should be noted there is a day or so lag before the debates are posted.
