To the People

The fact that governments go to war has nothing to do with the influence of corporations? Hmmm...

Governments went to war long before there was any such thing as a corporation.
Think about it. War predates capitalism by a good 4000 years.

From Kos:

"A Libertarian Dem believes that people should have the freedom to make a living without being unduly exploited by employers."

I would amend that sentence to read: people should have the freedom to make a living.

Freedom to make a living includes not being forced to join a union, not having opportunities taken away via regulation or having the government punish personal success via a progressive income tax code.

Let us not forget the danger of a government going to war for a corporation! And when I say "war" I mean in any loose definition, like competition elimination, etc.

"A Libertarian Dem gets that no one is truly free if they fear for their health..."

I feel like I'm in this prison sitting here worrying about my health?!? WTF does that even mean?

Alan, that's my point. Any attempt to give power to a government (which can go to war, put people in jail, etc) to try to control corporations (which can only try to sell you things or offer you a job, both of which you can decline) is going to backfire.
