To the People

Rats with antlers.

But much, much tastier.

gun? A real man - or lesbian - would strangle the deer with their bare hands.

break out the tree stands and corn...

yeah, these deer often look very cute but i agree, some of their charm has worn off as i have seen what they can do to a vegetable garden. bastards! i'm not into guns, but man do i want to shoot those fuckers when they have eaten our tomatoes and other veggies.

by the way, how could you tell the doe was getting raped?

Is a bow and arrow set illegal too? I can only imagine what would happen if some soft-headed granola gulper found out you were trapping them, but a dead fall in your backyard might be amusing.

humm...something tells me the authorities would frown on a bow and arrow in rock creek park....some sort of tazer perhaps?

Sorry for getting technical, but male deer are called bucks, not bulls. A shotgun is not likely to take him down unless you are really close (not recommended). You can tell she was being raped because she wasn't lying on her back spread eagle.

humm...when I was growing up south of the beltway a 20 gauge with buckshot (just a lead slug) was the gun of choice. I'm tempted to say that a contemporary rifle was/is illegal due to the range that most rifles have. You shoot and miss, that bullet can travel a long way before it runs into something. Not everywhere of course, but in more populated states like maryland it's rather typical to allow only muzzleloaders (black powder), bows, and shotguns.

I try to stick to birds. I know with the way I shoot I'm giving the creature a fighting chance.

Good point Rob, I was obviously thinking of a shotgun with birdshot, since that is what is typically used in shotguns where I live. We use a deer rifle for hunting deer because of the greater accuracy.

Cicero, if you are so butch and can strangle the deer go ahead and do it. Otherwise, just lend me your goddamned gun.

Minerva, I knew the doe was getting raped because I saw it and it was not pretty. Her hinds were scratched and bloody. Yikes. I have no idea if she liked it but she was cowering and didn't seem to be having fun.

Be greatful that the deer are tolerant of us invading their space and that they don't have, know how to use, or would even consider shooting us.
They make the best of a situation We on the other hand are unwilling to share or admit that we are not separate from nature but part of it. We're not that special.
