Great headline, Nate. I have never heard of retracting a guilty plea. Craig should probably just walk off into the sunset and collect his generous government pension.
Btw, I find it appalling that one can get arrested for foot tapping and hand signals.

Loved this:
There is, however, some Minnesota case law suggesting that public restrooms aren't "public places"
In that case, what happens if you decide to light a cigarette?

Russ,
That's a great point.
But maybe it's just a private place where smoking is now banned. Apparently, it's becoming more acceptable to ban things in private.
In my home state of WA, I can't play $0.02/$0.04 blind poker in my own apartment on my own computer.
If you can think of points like that, maybe you should become a lawyer and fight some of this shit.

As far as dogfighting case, I wish Vick had not plead out. I would have liked to see the debate in court over the "rights" of dogs as more than property (if any) and the subsequent decision.
Somehow I don't think that would have been in the defense plan. The odds must be 1000-1 getting even 1 person on the jury sympathetic to the "It's my dog and I can drown, hang, and torture it any way I see fit" argument.

Update: Oh yeah, online gambling is banned nationwide. How can I forget?
Here's to hoping that the feds don't look to WA again for paternalistic ideas. They sure have an arsenal to offer.
