And I agree that Cali is the bacchanal of the day. Despite its stupid regulations everyone there wants to party and they let it happen.

1)There are places where you get yelled at/not served for TALKING ON A CELL PHONE by a gas pump, so...it could've been worse.

I don't smoke anymore, but when I did, attempting to remove a lit cigarette from my lips would have been ample justification for it to find its way into your eye.

how come gas stations aren't blowing up all the time if smoking near them is such a hazard? I saw white trash do it all the time when i lived in jersey (more white trash than you would realize in north jersey)

Keith, I actually grew up in white trash NJ so perhaps that is why I thought nothing of lighting up at a filling station. After all, that is what everyone did and no one blew up. Who the hell ever caught fire by smoking near a gas pump? Anyway, it was an example of icky Cali versus the other good things I cited.
