I knew this frat guy once who stole a Trek from off campus in downtown philly. He told me that he had warned the guy who owned it that he had better lock it up (he'd seen it sitting unlocked previously). Thus he didn't feel at all guilty in taking it. Like if it wasn't locked up, it was just free shit

I started locking my front door in the city after I encountered thinking like that!
