Does the P Street Whole Foods even sell singles? I was looking for one the other day -- to ease the pain of the bus ride home -- but all beers not in six-packs were taped together in pairs. So, for instance, you can't just buy one large-format Chimay (never seen a Bud tall boy in that joint), you have to buy two, because, as I mentioned, they're taped together. I assumed they had already banned the sales of singles, or maybe that Whole Foods was anticipating such a ban and implementing pre-emptive compliance. Either way, keep your damn laws off my alcoholism, DC!! I promise I'll smoke chronic to the day that I die!! |

Besides all that, this is fucking Whole Foods we're talking about. What are the odds that even one person has bought a single beer there, got smashed off that single (admittedly possible with a big bottle of Chimay, then public urinated? 10,000 to 1, at best? |

I buy singles because if I buy a six-pack I will drink the whole thing. By banning the sell of singles, the ANC is forcing me to drink a whole six-pack. They will have blood on their hands. Ok, not blood. But maybe urine. My urine when I get piss ass drunk from downing a six pack in 15 minutes. |

Just waiting for the other shoe to drop and for the banning of certain brands of malt liquor. Hello, Seattle here. |

Davey, the Current comes out weekly so most likely the news is a few days old. Cicero, I am with you. I tend to drink anything that is in my refrigerator so I like to buy singles and also half-bottles of wine. Will they be next on the Nanny State hit list? |

ironically i usually don't purchase in less than twelvers and i've urinated on about four fifths of that entire neighborhood. and i live in Glover Park |

Kudos to your ANC's for doing the right thing. Government is supposed to be about the majority and they have done the courageous thing to make their communities safer and stand up to the irresponsible actions of the alcohol industry. |
