I don't know that Sullivan is abandoning the Democrats- he's always considered himself an independent conservative, whose support has vascillated over the years between Republican and Democratic candidates. Historically he was more likely to support Republicans and he still views Reagan and Thatcher as probably his two favorite politicians of the modern era.

Also, he only endorsed Paul in the Republican primary; he's been pretty clear that he's an Obama man in the Dem primary. I doubt he knows who he'd vote for if it were Paul versus Obama.
