Your argument on the terminology of "faith" is right on(Atheists often have "faith" in science, in that they believe what scientists tell them without any real proof). However, I don't see a problem with the post publishing a non-news section of the paper playing to 80-90% of their audience. It's not like the post is a government entity or something.

I'd also like to add that exposing people different religious perspectives in a (relatively, in this area) non-biased setting (as in, WaPo's not gonna have a "Seventh-Day Adventists: Losers...or Delusional Losers?" feature) doesn't seem like the worst idea, to me.
