Other curious government policies dealing with housing decline: In July 2007 Barney Frank introduces the National Affordable Housing Trust Fund to spend billions of taxpayer dollars to help people afford high housing costs. Since then, the market for housing is correcting and creating an environment where millions more people can afford housing without government intervention. Frank's response? Spend billions more dollars to prevent that from happening.
